The Incident at Galley House

I first played this game when it was a free text-based game on Itch.io and was ELATED to discover this full version of it. If you've played "Type Help" I definitely recommend playing this as well as the controls, voice acting, and ending add a lot to the experience. If you aren't familiar: you are listening to conversations from the past to try and figure out why a bunch of dead bodies were found at a seemingly abandoned mansion. Who or what killed these people and what secrets were they hiding? You do this by determining who was in what room at what time and listening to their conversations to unravel more information about who was where and when. All the while, you're in the house yourself trying to unravel the mystery while the generator keeps going out and new scraps of paper keep appearing on your desk. It's spooky as hell, but there are no jumpscares or creepy images: just really good atmosphere. If you enjoy note-taking, puzzle-solving games this is a good one. There's occasionally a bit of brute-force in determining who-was-where, but there's usually enough context that it isn't total guesswork. I was so happy to get to experience this game again.

Truly a special game

If you like Roottrees, Obra Dinn, etc., you'll probably like this. It has a different structure but the type of thinking you need to do in those games is intact here, which made it perfectly suited for the "I want to play this game again but only totally different" place I've been in since I played Roottrees a while back. I have no real complaints.

Excellent logic and puzzle game

Amazing voice acting, great story. I'll be thinking about this game for a long time. (Please don't take me, memory curse).
