very nice soundtrack for me the first one is better more jumpscares and puzzles
The Immemorial Order II Sisters of Darkness is a first-person horror adventure developed by Dan Gibson and published by Wicksley Games. Designed primarily around exploration and environmental storytelling, the game combines psychological horror with mystery elements and unexpected humor to create an experience that feels unusual compared to more traditional horror releases. Instead of focusing on combat encounters or survival systems, it leans into atmosphere, investigation, and gradual tension, building a slower-paced experience where curiosity becomes the main force driving players forward. The story begins with a protagonist trapped in the routine of an ordinary warehouse job and an increasingly repetitive life. That normal existence starts to unravel after exposure to rumors and strange information connected to a mysterious organization known as The Royal Immemorial Order of Ophidia. Stories of hidden meetings, unexplained footage, and unsettling activity buried within isolated wilderness areas begin creating an obsession that grows stronger over time. What initially feels like harmless curiosity slowly transforms into something much darker, pulling players into an investigation where every answer seems to uncover even more disturbing questions. Mystery serves as the foundation of the experience. Rather than delivering immediate explanations, the game carefully reveals information piece by piece, encouraging players to remain observant and engaged. Exploration plays a central role in progression. Players move through atmospheric locations searching for clues, examining surroundings, and uncovering details that slowly expand understanding of the larger mystery. The pacing favors gradual discovery rather than fast-moving action, creating an experience that values immersion and atmosphere over constant excitement. The environments themselves contribute heavily to the game’s identity. Dark forests, eerie pathways, unsettling structures, and mysterious locations create an atmosphere that remains consistently uneasy without relying entirely on aggressive scare tactics. Quiet moments become just as important as louder horror sequences. The game understands that uncertainty often creates stronger tension than constant threats, allowing environments to carry much of the emotional weight throughout the adventure. One of the more distinctive aspects of Sisters of Darkness comes from its willingness to break tension with humor. While psychological horror influences remain a major component of the experience, moments of absurdity and comedic elements appear throughout progression. This unusual balance creates a tone that feels unpredictable. Players may move from unsettling exploration to lighter moments that temporarily reduce tension before the mystery pulls them back into darker territory. The tonal shifts help prevent the experience from becoming emotionally exhausting while giving it a more memorable personality. The walking simulator structure means gameplay focuses heavily on movement, observation, and narrative progression. Players searching for deep mechanical systems or extensive gameplay complexity may discover a more straightforward experience than expected. The game succeeds most when approached as an atmospheric mystery rather than a traditional survival horror title. Engagement comes from wanting to uncover secrets and understand hidden truths rather than overcoming mechanical challenges. The conspiracy-driven narrative helps strengthen momentum throughout the experience. Secret organizations, hidden agendas, mysterious events, and psychological uncertainty create an ongoing feeling that something larger exists beneath the surface. The game builds tension not simply through horror imagery but through anticipation and unanswered questions. Players willing to invest in its storytelling approach may find the mystery becomes increasingly compelling as more information emerges. Visually, the game prioritizes mood over spectacle. Environmental design emphasizes isolation and discomfort, reinforcing feelings of uncertainty without requiring constant visual intensity. The atmosphere remains one of its strongest qualities, creating locations that feel strange enough to remain memorable while supporting the slower investigative pacing. The game also openly discloses the use of AI-generated elements for portions of its visual and audio presentation. This production choice may create mixed reactions depending on player preference, but the transparency surrounding implementation allows expectations to remain clear. Regardless of opinions surrounding those choices, the focus remains firmly placed on creating atmosphere and maintaining immersion. There are moments where the game’s limitations become noticeable. Players looking for complex interactions or highly dynamic gameplay systems may feel constrained by the deliberate simplicity of its design. Horror fans seeking nonstop intensity may also find the comedic moments somewhat divisive. The experience is intentionally slower and more reflective than many modern horror releases. Even with those limitations, The Immemorial Order II Sisters of Darkness succeeds because it commits fully to its identity. Dan Gibson and Wicksley Games deliver a mystery-driven horror experience built around atmosphere, strange discoveries, and psychological uncertainty rather than traditional action-oriented design. Its blend of eerie storytelling and unexpected humor gives it a personality that separates it from more conventional horror projects. For players who appreciate slower horror adventures built around exploration, mystery, and environmental immersion, Sisters of Darkness offers an experience that values mood and curiosity above spectacle. It may not redefine psychological horror, but it creates enough intrigue and atmosphere to leave a lasting impression. Rating: 7/10
Very funny game. Has some creepy moments.
Just completed the game with 35% achievements. A really cool horror game with amazing secret society cult marble mansion levels, outside levels very funny moments, and interesting story. extremely fun walking simulator, sick gameplay and epic music!
Wasn't quite the scare-fest of the first installment, in fact, humorous. No less challenging. Can easily see a third installment as they indicate different degrees of involvement once in the Order -- once past that Initiation.
very good :-)
