This VN contains Loli content and it needs a tag for that. I hate that this wasn’t labeled anywhere in the description or the promo art. I wish I could delete this VN from my brain. There is a difference between depicting historical realism and eroticizing 11 year olds bodies for the titillation of the viewer. I’m not a prude but mislabeling erotic content is harmful for everyone since it means people can’t control their own exposure to content they want to avoid. Mislabelling or misleading audiences on content is also how the actual prudes win when they try to legislate against adult media. Also, the translation is janky and super awkward. That alone is not worth the price. VN’s rely heavily on text and dialogue, so if that’s been phoned in, then what’s the point? The slang is so random at times. You can tell that whoever is translating doesn’t have the context to go with the slang word choice, so it just sounds broken and awkward. For example, I’m not sure why the protagonist keeps calls the girl “lass?” In a VN set in Ming Dynasty China??? Seeing it always breaks the dialogue for me. I know Ming China had trading relations with the West, but even so, “lass” tends to be more of a regional word in Scotland and the UK, and in some places, it is almost like a pet name used by the older generations. The word “vibes” shows up a lot too, which is a bit too ultra modern of a choice given the setting. But I guess that’s what happens when translators are educated by AI and TikTok these days. This story could benefit from hiring a professional experienced editor but currently I think the price is too high for a translation that is as lazy as this one.
