Short, but very sweet story of love and loss. The environment is beautiful, and the music is soothing. Controls took a bit of getting used it, but ended up feeling very fluid. The puzzles are not to hard, but they are very engaging, clever and fun. This game is worth every dollar! If puzzle games are your thing, I highly recommend. 8/10
This game is incredible in so many different ways. The story is excellent, and full of references to the fascinating history of the thinkers from the Islamic golden age. The music and art direction are also incredible, featuring an absolutely stunning soundtrack from Austin Wintory that uses classic Arabic instruments and composing to really transport you back through time. While the game can use a little polish mechanically, the puzzle design is interesting and keeps you thinking. Strongly recommend!!
Nice little puzzle game. Touching story, great voice acting and music. Definitely rough in some places (couple platforming oddities, some animation weirdness), but it's all forgivable.
Although quite short, it is a beautiful game with a beautiful message about grief and losing loved ones. This feels a lot like a PS3 era Puzzle-Plattformer, and I mean that in the most positive way, it felt almost nostalgic in it's slightly janky mechanics and gorgeously designed world. Really enjoyed the puzzles, the platforming was alrightish.
A labor of love that's a little rough around the edges. I was a bit put off at first when the character animation didn't acount for the analog stick moving rapidly back and forth, but I quickly realised that it didn't matter, and started enjoying the game for what it is. This is mainly a puzzle game, and I liked the puzzles throughout it. I never got stuck on any of them for more than a couple of minutes, and never had to consult a guide or walkthrough. They weren't too easy either. Even though the story didn't resonate with me, I did appreciate the characters and would like to see more of the scholars. I look forward to whatever comes next from this team!
Short puzzle platformer. IN ARABIC!!!
Beautiful art style and good history. It has very cute and aqdventurous puzzles. It has good movements, but sometimes it felt a little heavy to move. You don't really notice it after playing it for a long time.
*All my reviews are in spanish and english.*

The House of Hikmah is a game that surprised me, not because it’s tremendously innovative in terms of gameplay or even because it had been a long time since I’d played a puzzle game. Rather, it has become a game I can recommend to my friends who want to learn more about historical figures from a culture that’s underrepresented, such as Islamic culture. The gameplay is simple, but the puzzles can get a little more challenging as you progress through the game. It’s not a drastic change, and the difficulty curve is very well balanced. The game art is colorful and features beautiful patterns. Even though there are no facial animations, the eyes are super expressive and the characters are very recognizable. I think I’ve fallen in love with the colors after so many games with brown, gray, or muted tones. The music is great and really sets the mood for the game, though it’s not quite as memorable as in other games of this caliber. The story might tug at your heartstrings a little, it almost made me cry, so even though the game isn’t very long, it’ll have a big impact while you’re playing it. I recommend this game to puzzle lovers, those who enjoy heartwarming stories, and anyone looking for a break from all the Western games out there. Give it a try.
Really awful game. Movements weren't soft and easy on the eye at all. Made me nauseous from the get-go and even after changing the settings, there was little to no improvement. Good effort but to liken it with Zelda is completely false and misleading. Not enjoyable. Too much dialogue and there's significant lag between pressing a button and when the dialogue begins. All in all, I was really looking forward to this game - the concept is wonderful. Really bad execution though.
