The Horror at Highrook is an unusual game with some unique mechanics. There is a wealth of story, character and challenge hidden in the halls. There is a lot of text in the game and no voice acting (I couldn't afford it!) and that might put some people off, I understand. However, If you enjoy evocative writing, unpacking mysteries, and are wiling to experiment with a different type of game, then I think you will enjoy the journey! Check out the fully narrated gameplay trailer above to see how the game systems look in action.

Cultist Simulator's younger, inexperienced sibling. More spliced commas than narrative intrigue. Alternately, commas that have vanished along with the family. Typos appearing more than never. If you liked CS because of the prose or mystique, this on-rails, linear experience is probably not for you. Yes, I'm a curmudgeon. Regardless: there are worse ways to spend your weekend.
Great game !
Brilliant game. Absolutely loved it. A refreshing take on game play. Well put together especially for such a small dev team. Artwork, music, and sprites were well done, UI and game-play mechanics were fairly straight forward with only a tiny learning curve. Creative and unique.
Overall good game, organizational card/resource game that puts emphasis on time management. Interesting Lovecraftian concepts

A fantastic eldritch horror story with fun management mechanics
An enjoyable narrative/puzzle experience that uses cards reminiscient of 'cultist simulator' and dialogue to tell a lovecraftian story.
Story driven game where solving the puzzles pushes the game along. Love the lovecraftian feeling. Story felt compelling enough to play through until the end and beat the game. The largest downfall of the game is that it becomes to repetitive. Especially after a couple of hours! I think a simple map reset or a huge change in layout would've made a huge difference. Overall not the best game but I still liked it.
very one more card. Sometimes had to use discussion boards to work out what i was missing for some sidequests, but otherwise a nice lovecraftian trip
It's a pretty good puzzle card-game with an eldritch-horror theme. The pros - The art : probably one of the strongest part of the game. The hand-drawn character, with those colors and shades, really sell the lovecraftian vibe. Some of the characters have magnificient design. The occasional animation are also pretty well done. - The gameplay : it's a relative simple puzzle game, but it work on what the game want to offer. - the music : it's more of ambiance melodies. It - the length : at roughly 10 hours, I feel the game has the perfect balance with the story and gameplay. A longer game would've been too long. The cons - The price : for some people, the price may be a little high for the length I recommend the game for anyone who like puzzle and the thematic. It's a must have on a reduced price.
