Good Morning! I`ve played this game for a little time and it makes me feeling angry. Big Trailer, many reviews (many bad of them) and free??? Before i played that game, i was going to youtube and watched Gameplays. A little bit boring, but at this time i was positiv in my brain!!! 360 Gameplay, very cool idea, but not scary. When i have luck on my side, then i find wood, or 1 mushroom, but i must survival one day and one night!!!! Music/Background Soundeffects: 7.5/10 Fun: 3.45/10 Story: 2/10 Gameplay: 5.83/10 I wish you all a good day! Theobald XOXO

"The Holyburn Witches" is certainly a novel idea and a genuinely made game, which is all too rare when you consider how many shady low effort shovelware games are dumped onto Steam. So kudos to the developer for doing the right thing, and also doing the right thing by also making this free. What do you do in the game? It's a short survival adventure game, and the gameplay takes place within a series of 360 degree panoramic shots. So basically Google Street View, the game. Fair enough I guess. Unfortunately it's unpolished and buggy, the story is more atmosphere than anything coherent, and the survival mechanics are a little too brutal, taking away too much from the narrative. The graphics in this game are passable, but could be better. And while it's vital for any game to have impressive visuals (gaming is a visual medium, after all), there's more to a game than just the graphics. To be worth a gamers time, the game must match top tier visuals with top tier gameplay, and that's not happening here. It's free... now, but it wasn't before. The developer was charging $8 USD for this. Price barriers, especially on low quality products, can be a direct cause of failure. It's a nice gesture for the game to be given away for free, but it also tells us that the game wasn't good enough to succeed as a paid product. Even though this is "free", it failed to appeal to the 120 million+ gamers on Steam. SteamDB showed the game peaked at only 3 concurrent players... this is a dismal public reception. This was so bad they couldn't even give it away. Bearing in mind that free games don't add +1 to your game collector count, should you bother adding this to your library and downloading it? This is a "maybe" experience... if you have a lot of free time on your hands and nothing else to do, why not? But for the purposes of a review, this isn't something I can say everyone must try. It's not quite there. Valve doesn't give us a "maybe" option in reviews, but if they did, that's what I'd choose for this.

The game is relatively good, but it becomes quite boring when the gameplay is just about collecting firewood and picking mushrooms to survive. What I like are the jump scares and the very realistic sounds. The graphics are also excellent.

Gute Atmosphäre, leider aber auch ziemlich monoton. Grundsätzlich macht man die ganze Zeit das gleiche, Holz und Pilze sammeln, wobei man davon viel zu wenig findet. Der Überlebensaspekt macht das Spiel so unausgeglichen schwer, dass man kaum soweit kommt überhaupt etwas von der Story zu erfahren. Ebenso ist manchmal die Steuerung verbuggt und es lässt sich das Inventar nicht öffnen. Hätte man das Gameplay spannender und vor allem auch einfacher gemacht, wäre das Spiel um einiges ertragbarer.
