Preview: My experience is mixed. The combat is simplistic and the UI minimalistic but the exploration part is not so enjoyable. Firstly, I do not like driving a clumsy motorbike much and the lock-on lines across my screen but I can actually run across the world (saw a fast travel option in the menu), found some shortcut, bike can not go over water which is plentiful so I have to find alternative routes, especially because we can drown in deep waters easily and I could simply turn off red lines and fight without lock-on. I like a small detail when running, I can hold on to it with a pressed button and my character will sprint again once he replenishes some mind. I have not seen this in any game yet. Secondly, combat is actually easy once used to it because we interrupt some beasts attacks and can dodge away fast from them before they harm us. We can also attack and throw harpoon while on bike but it speeds up if we bump into them, it is better to fight on foot. I could throw harpoons without even needing to go into close contact with enemies. It took away a challenge, especially it is available early on. Beasts do not feel dangerous at all. Lastly, the sounds are relaxingly quiet and the dark bluish world seems very peaceful, it offers some cinematic views and also looks to be empty but it only seems so in the beginning. More than that I felt lost in it, the map layout did not help me orient myself one bit. The biggest issue I had was it is hard to fight big beasts because they disappear after a second I approached them. I am supposed to jump on top of them but I can not lock onto them and throw my harpoon in the first place to prevent them to escape. The story did not charm me as there was only a little bit of it at the start and throughout. The graphics are certainly odd looking, nice in some parts, less so when searching for details. The game crashed twice in 2 hours and it would not bother me, my progress was saved but I was thrown to a first checkpoint far away from the center of where I needed to be and where I was. I also fell off a "highway" road back to my first checkpoint again. Looking around while driving full speed on bike is not recommended. I am just disappointed I could not progress further, it seems like the game is also grindy, I could not beat the duo of bosses I encountered on the highway because they simply regenerated their bodies very fast. There are a few various beasts, and they would feel interesting to fight if our hero was not so buffed right from the start. Maybe a little less mind, enemies should attack faster and the big beasts will not simply disappear. At least give me more clues how to mount them. The bike can be steered by camera movement, just let me look behind and to the sides somehow. Lock-on focus should also be higher or less forceful if I keep moving my camera, anyways at least there is an option to not use lock-on and it still works flawlessly. This is very much on the edge between yes or no recommendation but I can not overlook the little things made by design that bother me. I also tend to not like repetitiveness if it does not offer any more variations and meaningful competition.

A little jank, but fantastic visuals and with clear inspiration from some of the greatest games there are, If you like Suda51, From Software and Team Ico's work, and are open minded about less polished games, definitely check this one out.
**Disclaimer: I have only played the game for about 3 hrs, I have not completed it.** The Godbeast is a fairly well crafted stamina based action adventure game by a solo developer. Combat is smooth but still challenging. Traversing the world with its darkly toned but bright atmosphere is quite enjoyable, especially in the rain. I feel like there could have been more story/ side story elements to interact with based on the size of the world, but its possible i just missed them or didnt progress far enough in the main story to interact with such elements. Maybe I was just reading it wrong, but I felt like the in game map could have been a bit easier to read? I was impressed by the fluidity of the interactions with the motorcycle. Overall I enjoyed the general combat and atmospherics for the game but I was not a fan of the "hunting" portion when in search of The Godbeasts, which would deter me from continuing, but thats probably just due to my personal preferences.
Great game love the visuals especially the rain for some reason it gives me a comfy feeling even do it is a dark world. Works better then expected on my 11 year old pc usually games like these are basically unplayable for me. But as far as I have been able to play in the short time I have it has been running great. I really recommend the game great value for it's price.
This game is frustratingly close to "good". The atmosphere is great, but I so wish that traversal was a bit less obtuse, the combat a bit more methodical... I hope that the sequel addresses these issues, but I am not willing to cough up the money to check.
I like how it is dark and creepy and has a souls like feel to it with the dodging. The harpoon throwing is fun as well as the slowly automatic healing. the bike is fun at times since the areas are kind of far away but there needs to be more details on what to do in this game. the godbeasts that you have to jump on, disappear and that's kinda annoying. even if it is part of the game, I want to fight them. some of the enemies cant be fought early, so you need to upgrade or else you will just keep fighting an infinite health enemy. I am a souls fan and I literally had to give up and die after beating these infinite health enemies for 20 minutes straight trying to figure out if I can cheat the game by beating them too much. overall it is kinda fun, so I give it a 8/10
It's a decent game, but lacks polish. It takes clear inspiration from Dark Souls and the combat is like a simpler, rougher version of Souls', though with its own tricks and flourishes such as some Shadow of Colossus style fights. The game's greatest strengths are definitely its intense, brooding atmosphere and its striking art style, so if those appeal to you I would recommend it. Despite its flaws (it did crash a few times, but the game saves often enough that it wasn't a huge issue) I enjoyed the game enough to play it to the end.
I saw killer7 like 3 times looked prett ycool
this game's badass. you get to drive around on a motorcycle for hours
I got this game from #1UPIndieSpotlight on Twitter. So far I'm enjoying it. If you like Souls like games and Shadow of the Colossus, you'll appreciate this.
