Decent hidden object/puzzle game. Nothing particularly special but no major flaws. Good for a couple hours entertainment.

This one has Cloud but no Achievements, sadly. Some notes I took during game play: There is a map that lets you know current location, if completed or if it needs attention. It does not have fast travel, and the game takes you back and forth between locations way too often, making this feel tedious and like an inconvenience Another important thing, it has no Voice Over. VO given the age of the game, should have been a standard thing to do. Some items inside the HO scenarios have a very small and precise hitbox. You may have found the item but will have to click on several different spots to get it to recognize it I feel the story didn't do a good job transitioning from act 1 to act 2 to act 3.
It feels like act 1 was something completely different than what you end up playing in act 2. Although near the very end of act 3 developers went "OH right this is what the game was about".
Yes there are things that if you squint really hard and pull a Sherlock Holmes, you can link together but its not a smooth transition. Overall, I ended up skipping 2 puzzles just because they were tedious, but HO and puzzles are decent. I would recommend but only if it's on a very good sale price.
The Fog: Trap for Moths
This is a Hidden Object Adventure game that is a sci-fi thriller. I have a Windows 11 OS, and it ran smoothly. This is intensive game play that keeps you moving, keeps you thinking and is hard to put down. There are HOPs, mini-games & puzzles interwoven perfectly in the plot. The artwork has a lot of blood splashed around and disturbing imagery for atmosphere, but doesn't cross over into gorey stuff. There is a lot of use of mannequin parts, but no body parts. The quality of artwork was excellent. The music can get repetitive, but it's easy to turn down. There is a map to show you where you are & available actions, but no fast travel feature. A nice journal. An excellent hint feature. Puzzles & mini-games can be skipped.
Okay so it's key features: • Captivating storyline Did it captivate me? Yeah, I guess I was a little captivated. On a scale of disinterested to thoroughly engrossed, I started at about 4, moved down to 3 as the story fell away, and then maybe went to a 5 as it concluded and the story was wrapped up. • Mind-blowing cinematics I think this might be a slight exaggeration, this game was released in 2013, and they are pretty, but we're talking the year The Last Of Us came out, I can't say my mind was blown by the 2 cutscenes present in the game. The first one reminded me of Silent Hill though, so points there. • Challenging HOG scenes I never found a single hog, or other barn animal. • Cleverly designed puzzles Since the puzzle design is the primary design present in these games, I'd say if this point was off, the entire game wouldnt be worth playing. Thankfully on this point they're correct, great puzzles throughout. The opening area is far and away the best designed segment, and the puzzles start to become a little moon logic-y or not easily pieced together as you get further in due to a lack of sign posting or other issues. Still, four hours of non stop puzzles, you're bound to get some dips. For the most part, I thought the puzzles were well designed and occasionally well animated, the budget obviously gets tighter the further into the game you get though. • Atmospheric locations The reason I played this is because it gave me Silent Hill vibes, and it certainly maintains that throughout. The audio is decent for one of these and the locations are interesting, though I sort of got a little bored once we hit some of the later areas just because in comparison the opening area and the hospital are so well done. All in all, a great little hidden object game, if you've played these before you know exactly the quality you're getting. The story is barely there unless you keep up with your notes, and other than the opening area, most areas aren't too dynamic and dont have events or scares. It's a series of puzzle rooms with a loose framework and its fine. Certainly worth a few dollars, but in todays market $10 is certainly pushing it considering the age of the game.
Pretty good HOG when it's on sale (<$2). No Voice Acting or Fast Travel. So that can be a bit annoying. Nothing illogical, minigames aren't difficult. Story is decent, and is revealed nicely (You gotta read the journal as you progress to really get the details). There's no bonus chapter and it took me less than 4 hours, so I feel it's only worth it on sale. I ran on Win10 and didn't have any game breaking bugs or anything. Now, I was mindful of the 2 that are mentioned in the discussions. I was careful when I went to the cellar with the fridge (made sure to click the fridge first to complete the HOP), and the part where there's a broken helmet w a bas-relief next to it (made sure to pick up the bas-relief 1st). I did local saves and copied the save states every 30-60 minutes just in case, but I never needed them. (They're stored in C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\AlawarEntertainment\Creobit\TheFOG) All in all, good game in it's genre and a decent deal on sale.
Glitch na glitchu, niestety...
