About
Ten minutes.
That’s how long the average mass shooting lasts, and in this school, it’s also how long you have to escape.
Set in an American high school, The Final Exam places players in students' shoes to experience a choice-driven survival game that mirrors the real-life decisions students must make during a mass shooting. As players navigate through emotionally charged scenarios like classrooms, lockers, and gyms, they confront the challenges and fears faced by students in a world where a shooter invades a place that is supposed to be a safe haven.
With immersive storytelling and an audio-driven experience, players go through safety drills like building barricades, hiding in lockers, and crawling quietly to escape the school. However, the only true way to survive is by unlocking five gun control bills hidden throughout the school.
The game is free of gore, violence, guns, and blood because it aims to be more than just a game; it’s a call to action. By promoting discussions about gun control and community safety, the Final Exam forces adults to confront a harsh and, unfortunately, too common reality. It empowers players to think critically about the issues affecting their community, encouraging them to become advocates for change.
The clock starts now.
The Final Exam for PC also supports high-end display setups with 4K resolution and beyond, widescreen configurations, faster frame rates, and more.

Anyone who's giving this game a negative rating is just utterly stupid and missed the point. This, right here is necessary, and this game perfectly highlights why gun laws needs to be checked. Its shameful that even in a modern world like this, 15k students go through this every year. Shameful. This game is not some AAA marvel, and i think they convey the main message more than perfectly. Well done!
I understand the message, but the usage of AI generated assets and the poor performance makes me think this is just sloppy leftist propaganda

Compared to many other reviews, I am not gonna spew conservative opinions. The message of the game is clear and completely valid, however the execution is extremely poor. I have 28 min of play time on the game upon writing this, and 15 of those minutes were me being AFK. There is clear use of AI for the development of this game, albeit it is just one cutscene and no other instances of AI usage is not yet of my knowledge. The audio-quality is extremely poor; the light emitted by the firing guns appears after the sounds are created. At some instances you are supposedly "controlling your breath" while one of the school shooters are walking by. You would, if you played any other game involving the control of your character's breathing, expect to hear only your heartbeat and no breathing, yet the breathing only gets louder. You could argue that the sound of breathing is that of the shooter walking by, but it is unclear if it is so due to there being no sense of direction of the audio. The game mechanics make zero sense; the sensitivity is extremely high and I had to use the lowest sensitivity of my mouse to even reasonably control my FOV, if that is the right word to use. This still was too high for a normal game. The game uses quick time events in many cases, but doesn't make any effort in punishing the player for making mistakes, you could even just not touch your keyboard and mouse at that point. Albeit, this was only when my character was trying to crawl and escape on the last scene, and not when trying to control the breathing. The game is extremely short to effectively communicate the message. I completed it in 13 minutes, which gives no time for the player to meaningfully relate or sympathize with any of the characters in the game. There are instances of the game trying to get the player to sympathize, but it is poorly done through just a note and in a tone which makes the player feel like it is their fault for the school shooting to happen. Most of those instances have an unclear purpose and message. There are also random pop ups mid gameplay which feel more or less like interruptions than a way to communicate the message of the game. The game has poorly implemented ways of communicating the very message of this game. Speaking of the message, the character the player plays as, can escape the school shooting with minimal harm. This seems extremely unrealistic considering the game's portrayal of how school shootings can ruin a normal kid's life. In contrast, the movie All Quiet on the Western Front effectively communicates the horrors of war especially when the main character gets an anticlimactic death scene, which should be implemented in the game narrative, but it should of course begin with having a narrative to begin with. In conclusion, the game clearly has a good idea and message to communicate, however does it extremely poorly and utilizes AI in a space reserved for hard working artists to produce quality work. The game itself is just awful too, practically unplayable. Don't waste your time playing this.
This game is actually pretty awful, I beat it in 15 minutes, and it had almost nothing to offer. Especially the qte, its so bad. And the use of Ai like holy ♥♥♥♥ this game just unironically sucks ass dude
thats soo sad aye
Despite what the page may say, this is neither a simulation nor intense. I went on my phone halfway through. Don't even consider getting this "simulation" if it's even that. Even from a performance standpoint, I have a 3070 and you'd think that this game would run fine It does run fine but throughout the entire experience, I heard my fans whirring, which if this were a decently optimized game, my GPU would eat this for lunch. [b]Conclusion: [b] This is unreal engine slop made by a white leftist, probably a member of the Sandy Hook Promise and you're better off just scrolling on Reels because that would be a more productive use of your time than playing this horrible excuse for a "simulation".
