The Falling Star is a first-person exploration and narrative-driven walking simulator. Following the mother's last wish, the girl embarks on a journey in a dream to uncover the story of her missing aunt’s past.
Revenue comes from in-game items and microtransactions, which our price-based model doesn't estimate. The player count below is how many people own it, not what they spent.
About
The Falling Star is a short, atmospheric first-person narrative adventure set in a fragmented dreamscape. You play as a young girl, journeying through a surreal memory world shaped by grief, love, and unanswered questions. After your mother’s passing, you follow her final wish—to uncover the truth behind your missing Aunt Jiang, and in doing so, begin to understand the family stories left unspoken.

Designed to be completed in around 20–30 minutes, The Falling Star offers a focused, emotionally resonant experience. Perfect for players who enjoy introspective storytelling and atmospheric exploration.
Wander through beautifully crafted environments that blur the line between memory and imagination. From quiet bedrooms to abandoned factories and the remains of a once-bustling town, each area reflects pieces of the past waiting to be pieced together.

Uncover clues hidden in the world—handwritten notes, old objects, and family relics. Light puzzle-solving is used to guide your journey and encourage thoughtful exploration.
Instead of lengthy cutscenes, the narrative unfolds through environmental storytelling. Examine everyday items and listen to the protagonist’s inner thoughts as she reflects on her family’s history.
Accompanied by original gentle music and ambient sound design, the experience invites players to slow down, feel, and remember.

If you appreciate narrative-driven games like What Remains of Edith Finch, Gone Home, or To the Moon, The Falling Star offers a similarly heartfelt tale in a compact and accessible format.
No combat. No time limits. Just you, your memories, and the stars.
Chase the star, while you still can.

I cried. It's not just a game. It's a story of an unfortunate circumstances one and their family can be in, not everything is perfect, it never will. It touches up on some "interesting" topics, so be aware of that. The music is absolutely beautiful. Part of the reason I shed a tear in the first place. It's a bit resource intensive, not sure why though. Overall a great game, it makes you remember thing you have long forgotten. Also it has achievements for all the shiny badge fiends!
很完整的作品,喜欢回忆中的色彩搭配,故事的叙述也很舒缓!

An earnest and genuine game. I thought the story was good, the walking speed could have been slightly faster.
schöne kurze Story mit nachdenklichem Inhalt
"The Falling Star" is a low key asset flip, a bunch of other people's assets assembled badly to make a basic game. Typically this kind of thing is done by amateur developers without sufficient budget, talent and/or staff to do the job of game development professionally. It's then quickly rushed into Steam Direct. And, unsurprisingly, this never results in a product with any quality, interest, or value for gamers. This is a poorly optimised and totally pretentious "art not game" experience where you take on the role of a little girl (why are amateur developers so obsessed with little girls) and walk through a bunch of COMPLETELY mismatched game assets while cringey bits of e-book poetry get thrown at you. Games this bad make me want to throw my toaster in my bath. I actually had more fun with this spotting the different flipped game assets than the actual game. I guess I've reviewed enough Steam garbage now that flipped assets are getting more and more recognizeable. Anyway, since when does a single game use both low poly pine trees (you know the ones) and highly detailed tree models at the same time? God, what a mess. At least try to be consistent when plagiarising the work of real developers. So the visuals might look halfway decent at first glance, if mismatched looking in places. But that's only because the "developer" is using other people's assets. When a dev is too lazy or untalented to make their own art, they usually aren't capable of competent coding or game design either. That is exactly the case with this mess. On the important matter of pricing and value for gamers, there's a lot going on here with monetisation, so this really shouldn't be considered a truly free product because of that. They have their hand out for a $12 USD "donation" for this as you're expected to give them money from buying empty DLC from Steam... digital panhandling. Like the homeless guys who splash dirty water on your windscreen at the traffic lights. No thanks. Despite having no up-front cost, this failed to appeal to the 130 million+ gamers on Steam. SteamDB shows this peaked at only 3 concurrent players... this is a dismal public reception. This was so bad they couldn't even give it away. This "free" game won't count toward your game collection count on your profile. With that in mind, is it something you should still download? Give this one a miss. Although it's free, your time and storage are valuable resources, and the market is filled with superior options.
Very short but touching narrative game. There is not much gameplay here, its a walking sim, but if you have 45 Minutes to listen to a little story, Id reccomend, especially since its free. I wish the walking was slightly faster, but the slow walk also fits the somber modd
体量小但讲了一个非常完整的故事,很喜欢这种不按头且没有所谓“对错”的叙事……只是告诉玩家这件事的存在,但并没有输出任何关于哪一方才是正确的观念,留下的全是思考没有口号。喜欢支持!
