Fun survival game. About a 9/10. Top down gets old and the enemies get more aggressive, but it's an interesting concept and good story, if you take the time to read it all.

This is a game that needs a "neutral" option for the reviews. Because while I had my fun playing this game, I don't think that it's necessarily a good game - but not bad either. It's complicated. You play as the unfortunate victim of a religious cult or something that is to be hunted down. So you sneak through the hunters and try to find a way out of the woods. It's fun to observe the paths of the enemies and looking for a way to sneak past them. Sometimes you have to help yourself with a rock to distract them ... sadly that's it. There are different types of enemies, like snipers or ones that follow your tracks so you have to keep moving. Most of the time you just meet normal hunters though. You can also find journals and articles about the world you play in. Something about a class system and impossible work shifts. It didn't hook me really, the articles and journals aren't really well written either. It's not bad to have a game that isn't a totally unfair sneak experience to be honest. I even think of playing it again and get some of the other achievements. But it's only a thought and not an urge to play it again. I first started the game over a year ago and just finished it yesterday (but didn't get the achievement that I finished the game, maybe a bug?). Be warned that it is not really challenging or varied gameplay. But for a quick session it could be worth it.
Forced difficulty so no, appreciate it from a dev standpoint but nah.
Its alright. But why do you need to loose all your equipment on death? Also i want more possibilities to take out guards. I wanna kill guards. PS: Also, go and polay Fear & Hunger on steam. Brilliant isometric indie darksouls game. I cant review it because germany is a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ country that has blocked all sexual content games on steam.
While I genuinely find the settings and mechanics fun and good, this game not only runs at an extremely high frame rate (it was hard to handle on a pretty good computer at some points), it softlocks you in many places a little too often. It can definitely get better if the dev comes in and refine it. I genuinely like the concept.
An awesome game, i had a lot of fun playing it, 10/10 i recommend to everyone if you are into short story games
Not very interesting.
Intense and engaging, really enjoyed playing the game (p.s. Prowlers scared the smith out of me)
I wish i could leave positive review here but encountering 5 bugs in about 2 hours of gameplay is bit much. Also imo the game fails both as "horror" game and also as "roguelite". The bugs: - i was able to enter into hiding place thru a wall (this happened from inside a house to inside a house so if this is only place there is no exploit but if there are other hideouts/walls with broken hitboxes you can enter places without cost or maybe even softlock progress if there is no way out) - first time i reached end of level it didn't give me end of level screen, i did what the task asked me to do (picked a backpack) and i didn't get a new update... so i then let guards kill my character so i get a new one... now i get some weird obective about wells and temples where the title didn't even fit to the screen and description repeated itself (i assume it was a placeholder text to test UI)... i then opened someone elses gameplay video to see if i did something wrong or if my assumption was correct about there being a bug... i saw someone else reach same exact point i did before i went to kill my character.... and then realized it was 2nd bug already in 1st level - there is a fence you can force yourself thru (this fence didn't skip any progress, actually you just go backwards to previous section - and from my testing it only works in one way - but if there are other fences as broken as this you can possibly skip content) - i tried that fence trick again and this time i became super stretchy and i believe i could had entered building next to me if i wanted to (don't think that one has doors or windows so i didn't) - you can start dismantling noise traps where you hear the sound and get the animation... but the UI doesn't show you actually completing it... and it never finishes dismantling it... so you have to stop the action, move to find better location to actually trigger the action and do it properly Also noticeably a thing missing is music. Main menu has one but it doesn't fit the mood tbh. Which ever country and time period game takes place i would had picked or made music with instruments, tempo and style that belongs there and either slow it down or manually lowered tempo - pitched instruments down or moved them down in scale..... During gameplay there barely are any atmospheric or musical sounds other than some wild animals in distance (like owl). That wasn't really enough to give us fitting feeling. AI also feels really stupid to the point i lost immersion. If 2 guards are next to each other and you knock one of them down... the other guard only moves to next to the body because the hit made a sound... they don't care about the body on their feet! They don't try to wake their friend up. They don't become more alerterd. They don't go shouting to their friends about "hey, the pray is here, they knocked my friend".. nah.. they just stare at the direction where they heard sound from and then return back to their duties. Also if you do knock someone down, go away for a bit (still not sure if its time or distance based) and then return... the person is standing again but acts the same exact way as before. Most stealth games have AI at very least be more careful, watch surroundings more closely or if the game has any advanced things going on maybe they communicate with their fellows in some way (bell, radio, yelling warnings, triggering some alarm etc). This game had none of that at least early on. I didn't feel tense or pressured a single time. Even when the prowler (chaser type) appeared i didn't even see him anywhere beside the cutscene that introduced him. And the roguelite? Not sure if this even counts.... if you die you get a new character. But this character: - spawns where your last checkpoint was - can get your old stuff back if you can get to the body - the only difference between people are starting skills and background lore/story Its more like dark souls save system and less like roguelite. If it had random artifacts, something procedural (doesn't have to be level shape itself but maybe guard placement, loot, which doors are open/closed etc etc) then it could be roguelite.... but right now it feels lilbit of lying as it barely counts. I bought the game from -90% sale so i only paid one euro (about one dollar) for it. Not sure if i regret the price. But i may regret wasting my time. All this being said: i still hope developer makes more games. Just learn from past mistakes and make something better. The idea of this game is solid. But you need to have more tense atmosphere if you want to make it horror and you need to add more differences between "runs" (when you spawn with new character) if you want to make it roguelite.
