F2P slop, just play The Division 2 instead
Basically The Division 2 version for mobile, aimed mostly for casual players who seeks for simple, effective and eye-pleasing looter-shooter fix for lack of anything better. Recognizable atmosphere and design are there, cover systems and RPG elements. Criticisms on micro-transactions stays in place but who played first two games could find at least temporary fun with this pocket version, at least it will not overheat your PC like smartphones.
Majority of settings are locked from changing in the menu and tutorial. 60fps lock by default. Didn't even finish tutorial cause that is the most egregious oversight and lack of thinking I've ever seen in a video game. Shameless mobile port money grab.
After about 2 hours in Division 2 and several hours testing Resurgence, I can say these two games are fundamentally different on PC. Gameplay & Environment: Division 2 on desktop is fantastic. Gunplay feels smooth and satisfying, the Washington D.C. map is incredibly detailed, and enemy variety keeps combat challenging. Resurgence, however, is clearly a mobile port. On PC, it looks like a PS3-era game, with inferior controls and graphics. Story & Narrative: Both games fall short here. Division 2's main story isn't very memorable, and characters don't stick with you. Resurgence has a shorter, simplified storyline built for mobile – it's interesting at first but gets repetitive after a few hours. Technical Issues & Bugs: Unfortunately, Division 2 on PC still suffers from crashes that haven't been fixed for years. Resurgence on desktop also has bugs like enemy teleportation and audio glitches. Verdict: If you're on PC, I'd recommend buying Division 2 on sale (usually under $20) – it offers a more complete and polished experience. Resurgence is only worth it on mobile as a simplified free version for casual travel gaming. On PC, I wouldn't bother with it at all.
