A surprisingly good VR Puzzle horror game! Check out my Impressions Video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z0JlBhE6HlM
I'm sorry but there is no way that this early access title is worth twenty dollars. I experienced glitchy camera movement when turning my head side to side in the Oculus Rift S and the player height was too low to where you could touch your actual floor and this would be lower than the in-game floor. There is also no way to adjust height in the game. Teleportation seemed buggy and I had to resort to nausea inducing free locomotion to get me out of some strange places. There are no graphical options and no way to save the game. The graphics also seemed outdated and washed out, and still the game somehow takes up almost 25 GB of hard drive space. I also found the weapons a little strange without any explanation for how they work such as the skull that projects another skull in a random and aimless way . Overall, I wasn't impressed and cannot recommend this game.
This game is just amazing, a real hidden gem. There are two modes to play. Story mode, which has you on an adventure exploring, fighting, solving puzzles and seeing some amazing graphics all on the way. The story and puzzles keep you going for more, and is just the right amount of difficulty. The second mode of play is a randomly generated mansion, where you have to find keys and items to clear the house. Sounds simple but its a huge house and something is chasing you that you can not kill. You can hear it lurking around the mansion with you, wondering if its just around the corner. Best played with headphones. The 11th dimension is waiting for you, just jump in.
very good game cheers looking forward to ep2 keep it coming my friend
Was will ich da? Also wozu dort länger umher irren? Im Random Map Modus ist die Steuerung etwas besser. Locomotion funktioniert dort.
January 2025 - *Highly Recommend!* This game is a fantastic blend of old-school puzzle mechanics, a cool atmosphere, and an intriguing story. The game stands out with its immersive world and clever puzzles, offering a nostalgic challenge for fans of classic adventure games. The narrative is engaging with unexpected twists that keep you hooked. It's not a typical horror or survival game—there’s no constant fight for survival or jump scares. Instead, The Dark Method focuses on exploration, puzzle-solving, and story. For those who enjoy action-shooter elements mixed with a deep, atmospheric experience, this game delivers in spades.
i do what is there work nicely but puzzle are a bit tricky,my 2 cents is the game is superb, but the save situation is very ugly,i think it should save on new weapons acquisition and when you solve a puzzle.right now i wont work on it too much until this is done better as no one like to redo the same things for hours.ps add a height ajustement for people like me woh play seated otherwise if thoses dont bother you you will really love the ambiance of that game .congrats to the dev
If you are fan of immersive single player story driven adventure VR games I would really consider supporting this game! The environments are well made and can be very large which is so cool in a headset. I got a real Goonies vibe through a lot of it which is awesome to me! The puzzles are fun, although they can be a bit cryptic at times (at least to my dense brain, I'm sure puzzle lovers will sail through this) but the Dev is more than willing to drop a hint if you get stuck and is really active in the discussions forum. The mobs and weapons are all very well made and look really cool! Overall it is a really awesome place to be in VR! This is not your typical hashed together with generic assets game that takes 45 minutes to 2 hours to complete. It is a very ambitious game that I imagine would take most people around 10 hours or so to complete? This is a rare thing for us! I think when this is completed it will be one of the top story driven single player VR games and it isn't a bad game at all as it is now. I think this is a hidden gem that deserves attention. It is early access, so it is not perfect? There is the odd glitch here and there but I did not encounter anything game breaking. If you are patient you will be rewarded! Smooth turning is not available, HMD movement is also not an option. As a matter of fact there are no options at all yet! These are things being worked on. There is no official Index support but I played on a Cosmos with Index controllers and was able to play just fine without rebinding anything. The developer seems to be really active so I expect to see additions, improvements and changes soon. I look forward to them! Thanks Analog Joker for a great game and for helping keep VR alive! Without Dev's like you my headset would be gathering dust right now.
