For a "tactics" game, it's a lot of fun. As a big fan of the Dark Crystal, it's a very interactive way to tell the story that we came to love on Netflix. Not exceptionally difficult so far, not easy though either... it ramps up nicely.
Loved the film and more recent tv show so was happy to find this game of it too, It follows a simplified version of the shows storyline but knowlege of the Dark crystal series, universe, or its lore is not required to enjoy the game. The game itself is a turn based strategy game with three difficulty levels and tutorial at the start. The graphics are cute and score is nice too, and it keeps the overall feel of the story and world of Dark Crystal & it's fun. I would highly recommend this game if you enjoy turn based tactical games in general, or even if you are new to them and are simply a Dark crystal fan like me, as the game eases you in to the combat and explains the controls really well making it ideal for those just getting into the genre.
🔰 Einstieg
📖 Handlung / Story
💶 Preis
Ich habe „The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance Tactics“ am 02.11.2020 für 8,39 € gekauft.
💚 Fazit
📝 In Aller Kürze

Wunderschöne Fantasy-Welt „Thra“ 🌌
Solides, aber simples Taktik-Gameplay ⚔️
Interessant für Fans der Serie 🧙
Atmosphärisch & cooles Art Design 🌿
Repetitive Kämpfe 🔁
Technisch etwas clunky 🛠️
Mehr Herz als spielerischer Feinschliff 📖

Die Rezension spiegelt meine ganz persönliche Meinung zu „The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance Tactics“ wider. I wish I could go back in time. Just 35 minutes so I could refund this game.
Low budget fraggle game! The games is full of jank and it would be nice if they explained anything to you. Like: if i can equip a dagger, sword, or a axe why would i use anything other than the axe with it's +50 more attack power than the others? Is the dagger faster? Why would i use daggers at all since it negates some recovery? Is lower recovery good? who knows? The devs couldn't be bothered to explain it. The issue is in fight the speed symbol with a downvote is bad so when the weapon says "{speed symbol} -10" am i to take that as being good or bad it's not explained (FYI yes, daggers makes you faster and axe's make you slower). Another issue is you'll have to do a bit of grinding since they treat money like it's coming out of a CEO's pocket. You have to do Encounters for cash, as they give more then the main story parts do and it still feels like pocket change. Oh, and you can not sell old gear back to the store because NO REFUNDS! i guess? I personaly like this game, mainly because of the IP and I can deal with all the clunky bits but i would not recommend this to most people. I also don't think i'll be playing newgame+. p.s. the podlings have the best classes. yes, the podlings!
I enjoyed the game a lot. It very much resembles old school tactical RPGs like FF Tactics, in which you spend a lot of time grinding for gear and levels. This game is pretty grindy, so be warned. Some people like that, some don't. I would have liked it if there was a system of rare gear you'd find by doing areas as rewards or something. All of your gear from this game comes through purchasing them for the gold you get completing areas. So you sort of just buy the best gear for each person, and that doesn't have a lot of variety to it. Therefore, I don't see much replayability to the game, which is usually a strength to any tactical game. I have noticed that a lot of players get hung up after like 5 or 6 quest missions. The game seems kind of shallow at first, but if you keep playing, and start unlocking classes, it does get fun, though in a grindy sort of manner about making each character unique though the leveling system. I'd say get it when it's on sale, if you like old school grindy tactical RPGs. If you hate grinding, it's probably not for you.
If you're a really big fan of the Dark Crystal and tactical games then a big yes to this game. It's fun to play and you can set your own level whether you're just in it for the story or combat.
Good Immersion into Dark Crystal Universe , and simple but deadly Turn Based Combat , can easily recommend!
at first i was like mehh but then i like tatic games so gave it another go ...didnt know it was a netflix thing unitll people told me lol but yeah worth it ...i only played on normal but the people i used i stuck with all the way the others ...when i did get them i stop useing ...but when you have a good team ..easy game ON
