About
Six weeks ago, the military discovered a location that... doesn't exist. It appears to be a pastry shop named Cloudberry Lane, but something is deeply, DEEPLY wrong with it, and it's not a real bakery.

Your job? Enter this anomalous zone, explore around the building, find the military's ten gemstones, and exit out the way you came. As the chapters progress, you slowly find creatures in your surroundings that want to harm you. Each creature has a unique way of fending it off, but they get angrier and angrier as you collect more gems and discover more about this perplexing mystery.

This game is a point-and-click survival horror game by The Theorizer. It consists of rapidly clicking between pre-rendered static rooms to find small, hidden gemstone icons. However, where you click, and when you click, also depends on which enemy is targeting you at a given moment. Sort of like FNAF meets 'Emily Wants to Play' meets iSpy.

This is a very short game, and each of the eight chapters could theoretically be completed in mere minutes. This is very unlikely, given the difficulty spike, but the experience is free nonetheless.

Hi Theorizer, im just gonna show you my notes. Hope they help :D Also im not a game designer. Im a nobody writing this in bed. I like the voice acting Im not sure what the theme for this game is gonna be so i cant judge it too much in that area, but the start button doesn't seem to match it. Also the christmas bells in the main menu theme When it shows the chapters the way it looks gives me "cheap game" vibes. As a placeholder its fine That ruby image makes me laugh, but i don't think that's intended. Don't use the most basic font. Unless it is intended to look plain or crappy. The 3d environments arent that bad depending on its purpose. If you use it right then it can work really well. Some look better than others though (for example i really like the room with all those red cubes and the closet or whatever it is.) If it's going for spooky then it's not working. The closest one is the one outside in the dark which is kinda chilling (For reference i'm not good with horror games at all because i'm a scaredy cat) Gameplay is really simple, but not very fun. Too repetitive with the only challenge being sitting through minor irritation. I think not having music works well actually. Maybe having random ambient noises that trigger randomly could be cool though? (Don't overdo it) Further in the game now (the outside does genuinely creep me out) Congratulations. I do animations so i could animate that flame for you if you want... :< Those cakes look like sponges Okay at chapter 2 now Okay epic recolour of the ruby I cant write notes anymore because this monster keeps appearing That was actually pretty spooky Same with those random freaks around too Jumpscare was not that effective which for me is a relief, but not what you want. Had to get jumpscared by one of the freaks for science, also not that effective. Also i have a piano keyboard i like to mess around on. Just saying :< Anyways that was my review/notes. It's pretty crappy at the moment which made it pretty fun for me. Funny too. As a basis to start on i think it has potential to be a fun lil horror game! Much luck creating it!

Even for a school project, it’s weak — the game feels like a PowerPoint presentation. There are only about 10 places you can go by clicking where the cursor turns green. Just a trash game.
I certainly liked the game, I found that the audio could be quiet during talking portions and loud during music portions. I can't yet tell if the jewels automatically appear in a new room immediately after clicking one or if they show up at random, if they automatically appear that is immeasurably better because it then ceases to be a long boring trek and becomes more fun and starts to challenge your observation skills. Overall pretty good for a point and click horror.
I liked it, but it was... irritating, the emeralds just stopped showing up entirely. I could not progress in the game even after restarting it multiple times, same thing happened with the rubies, but that I was able to finish that level after 4 restarts. I am definitely excited for the future of this game though.
The Cloudberry Abyss is a game that will make you feel like you're in a The Theorizer video. Its creepy atmosphere and high adrenaline gameplay keeps you on the edge of your feet. Honestly I could play so many more levels of this. I think there should be more of this in the world. Much like a The Theorizer video, you never want it to end and you're left with a spooky and unsettling feeling, with many answered questions, but more to The Theorize on. Thank you for this.
I'm honored to be one of the first to leave a review for this game. I'm really thankful Theorizer decided to make a game, and quite a fun one at that. For it being his first game it's obviously nothing groundbreaking, but It's a fun concept that is executed well for it being his first game. one thing I would recommend is a pause menu, maybe I'm dumb and couldn't find it but I doubt it. I can't wait to finish this game and 100% will record a full playthrough of it sometime. Great job Theorizer! (I'm still waiting for the Lake mungo pt2 vid...)
Thoughts on version 0.1 (Spoilers ahead) Overall I think the game is a good experience Chapter 1 Boring and there was no atmosphere - shorten it or make it feel more interesting Chapter 2 Had proper tension and I jumped in my chair more than once Chapter 3 I was paranoid and I had my first death (because of my dog lol) Chapter 4 Had my first legitimate death Chapter 5 Had me moving very quickly because I was afraid of the new stuff Chapter 6 I was a little confused by the newer enemies but deaths didnt feel unfair Chapter 7 Most difficult but I was no longer scared. I finally understood everything about each enemy and was mostly dying to my own mistakes I found myself frustrated by multiple deaths which I needed to back out but was stopped by the face appearing - it's not impossible to get by but sometimes I had to move my mouse quite far which gave me very little time Chapter 8 Opening audio had me a bit freaked out as it was unexpected and added a tiny bit of the tension back. I won very quickly in two attempts Additional notes: - Subtitles would be MUCH appreciated when I actually need the information given - Sometimes when clicking through the rooms quickly the face will appear and follow me into the next room before stopping me - Sometimes the face appears to have a faint horizontal line above it, most noticeable with a dark background - Most of my deaths were from the first enemy because I was too quick to react correctly, but these deaths felt fair. Every other enemy only got one or two deaths from me - the little minigames inbetween levels were I retreating but very simplistic - The whole thing gave SCP vibes to me - I like the main menu
Basic click survival horror Monsters seem decent in design, game quality seems alright but holy i was on level 5/8 and there is a creature u can't stare at and ligit in less than half a second cus i recorded it and looked back at it so half a second i am dead, i am 98% sure he is trigged via the mouse cus i entered a room and took the most optimal route to the next room ofc i am going ligit miliseconds per room ligit scanning leaving etc so i grazed this dudes leg and i am just dead. This was consitant in most my runs and i just kept dying before i could get any more than one frame of the room. the first 1-3 levels the gems i needed to collect seemingly stop spawning... soft locking me... so after a dozen or two of restarts (cus even tho this game is quite short i wanted to give it a real chance so i kept shutting down and restarting the game) i get to 4 quickly beat it as they spawn normally again. hate the fact i can't full screen it. all around i hated the experince so many actual possible runs ruined in ligit less than half a second due to just bad no stare man spawn RNG can u prevent this? Oh yes. You just need to learn his spawn points which is easier as on levels 1-3 when he is quite negligable. oh ye one other point, the map never changes and there is a ligit hidden area by clicking a wall to see outside :D likely the dev put the hitbox on the wall instead of the window on accident. reguardless a error is a error inporatnt no view just game: The game spans 8 levels (least on the surface it is possible another page could add more) The enemy mehcanics are extreamly simple, well the first two which is one u can't stay in a room long and then no stare man... (not his real name i jsut call him that cus u can't stare at him) No stare man proof = https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KZEa-KSnql4 (listed as unlisted so with this link u can view it)
I just want you to know, Mr. The Theorizer, that I don't do scary games, and I'm upset with you for making me play one >:( I got to level 5 so far, but I can't figure out where the boss guy is that I need to scare away.
First the positives: I really like the visuals and voice acting(the door guy freaked me out the first time I heard him). I also love how more monster appear every night. I never played FNAF, but I think it is a cool idea for a point and click game to have different enemies running around that need different strategies to beat. And while I am not a scary game/movie enjoyer, I think the atmosphere was quite good for the most part, but I have yet to be jump scared. For the constructive criticism: I don't know if this was just an issue on my end, but I could not get the game to go completely full screen. It is quite early on, but eventually an option for subtitles would be appreciated, and maybe a setting for brightness as well. Regarding the gameplay itself, I do like the general environment you have set up as well as the storytelling at the end of every level. However, I think that the point-and-click, searching-for-gems, gameplay loop needs to be changed. I did have fun, but I think puzzles of some sort would be more engaging. As it stands, I am blindly going from room to room, looking for gems that might not be there. I really do like the enemies, but I have not figured out what the door guy does. I just occasionally go back to the front, but I think that is what I'm supposed to do. (minor side note: I think the dialog says front desk when there is no desk there, but I may be wrong about that). Lastly, I haven't played for long, but I can't find the guy on level 5 who cuts off the air. I was able to find 8 gems before he killed me again :(
Overall, I think it has a lot of potential, and I am excited to watch someone else play it depending on how scary it turns out.
