The Children of Clay

A great, eerie little experience inspired by folklore. The stop-motion graphics are neat, the atmosphere is good, and the investigation mechanics are thoughtfully selected and don't wear out their welcome. On top of that, it's both quite short AND free, there's no reason not to set aside a quiet evening to try it. (I would recommend the making-of DLC once you're done. Learning how the developer put this together in such short order impressed me.)

总体量在30-40分钟左右，属于短小精悍的佳作。 优点在于氛围感强，音效设计好，后续逃跑的环节也相当具有新意，颇有洛式故事的风范（或者坡式） 缺点在于整体流程过短，引导不足以及查询词语输入的词需要和你游戏内的文本语言一致，如果能够把所有语言的检索同时设置就太好了。 本作品与其说是一部短流程的作品，更像是一个故事章节的节选，期望后续可以看到更完整，更完美，故事线更长的作品！ With a total playtime of around 30–40 minutes, this is a short and compact gem. Its strengths lie in its strong atmosphere and excellent sound design. The later escape sequence is also quite innovative, very much in the style of a Lovecraftian (or Poe-esque) tale. Its drawbacks include an overall playtime that is too short, insufficient guidance, and the fact that the words entered for the search function must match the exact language of the in-game text. It would be fantastic if searches could be set to work across all languages simultaneously. This work is less of a short standalone piece and more like an excerpt from a story chapter. I hope to see a more complete, more polished work with a longer storyline in the future!

Una experiencia que para lo poco que dura, consigue crear una atmósfera inquietante y mantener la tensión durante prácticamente toda la partida. Ojalá hagan un juego completo de esto, porque la experiencia es muy buena. Precisamente su corta duración es lo único que se le puede echar en cara, ya que cuando empiezas a meterte de lleno en la historia, se acaba. Aun así, merece mucho la pena si te gustan las experiencias de terror breves y atmosféricas. Una pequeña demo con muchísimo potencial. Mi nota final es un 6,8/10

Cute little horror game, I liked how it could bread crumb you from one clue to the next so that even a goober like me could solve it. Don't mess with weird forces outside of your realm of knowledge if you don't want it to examine you in return. 6/10 "Devil you say, ah ok. Let's put this one back in storage lads"
