Very short but fun game. My only problem is that if I studied archaeology for some time and still had to search for the word "clay," I think they'd fire me on the spot.
this is a nice simple horror game where you play as an archeologist who, for some reason, is dumb enough to mess with foreign objects. theres literally a saying that you arent supposed to touch things that dont belong to you, and this game is basically proof of why. the children of clay is a fun little game to play when you dont really know what else to do and want something creepy without committing to a super long game. theres achievements to get, hidden clues to find, and little details that make you want to look around and figure out whats actually going on. its also a very light game and isnt hard to run on a laptop at all. i play basically all of my games on a laptop, so i always notice when a game runs smoothly. overall its simple, creepy, easy to run, and has that kind of 'scary" where you already know touching something is probably a terrible idea, but you do it anyway because apparently curiosity always wins. did i mention its FREE?

This rocked! The Children of the Clay is a very unique archaeological point and click horror game centered around inspecting a clay artifact, reading journal entries of historical info, and... yeah. The less you know the better because it's free and only 20 minutes long. It's so simple but has such a killer atmosphere and vibe that I'd love to see what else this developer comes up with in the future.
A great, eerie little experience inspired by folklore. The stop-motion graphics are neat, the atmosphere is good, and the investigation mechanics are thoughtfully selected and don't wear out their welcome. On top of that, it's both quite short AND free, there's no reason not to set aside a quiet evening to try it. (I would recommend the making-of DLC once you're done. Learning how the developer put this together in such short order impressed me.)
Balazas you goofy fella! you did it!
