Quick play with just under 20 minutes for all achievements. It's not in-depth by any means, but quite enjoyable for a rainy evening. I recommend
It took me about 13 minutes to clear this game. Which is about part for the course with a lot of the cheap Hidden Object game titles out there. Find 100 items in under five minutes or so. With, “The Cats of Monte Cristo,” there are a total of 250 items across 10 levels. There are two chapters divided into five visuals. Each chapter has 100 of the cats and 25 collectibles to find. One level might have five daggers, another five diamonds, and so on. The first chapter is mildly harder than the first; I had to use the hint but like three times, and that was because you can’t zoom in like in a lot of other HOG games. I didn’t have to use the hint function in chapter 2 at all. Each of the ten screens in a scene from Dumas’ classic novel, but don’t feel you will know much, if any of the story from playing the game. The game tells nothing about the plot or even wha you are looking at, and there is not enough here to put the plot together, so off to the library with you! The music is so forgettable I can’t remember it and I just finished the game. I paid a buck and and a half for this, or about 75 cents a chapter. It’s the same content and time you’d spend on similar games, so I’m not disappointed or pleasantly surprised. I’m happy to see a different twist on the genre here, and it plays perfectly well on the Steam Deck. Just add the zoom function. That’s the big ask people are going to have.
pretty good 4.5/5
Okay, listen. Even if you've never read the book, I'm sure you can agree that there aren't nearly this many cats in the story of the Count of Monte Cristo. They're not any kind of plot device or secondary character, and certainly not an antagonist. But how much better would the narrative have been if there had been 500 cats in some sort of shadowy feline council infiltrating 19th century Parisian high society? /|\\
I found this game cute and a bit different then the normal hidden picture game. Each level I needed to find a certain number of cats and one other object. Each object changed with the levels. It wasn't difficult and it was relaxing. The pictures were hand drawn.
Don't waste your money (and a little bit of time). a) the game is very short b) no zoom ... very helpful with very small cats c) some cats are just...a tail d) no fun at all
Nice but very very short
Nice little hidden cat game. Nothing fancy but original artwork. Got 8min out of it (with a few hints) but then again it isn't so pricey. A small recommendation, but a recommendation nontheless.
I still don't know what the story is about, but I had fun finding all the cats!
