It's a lovingly crafted CYOA game. You can even draw and import your own characters. The developers tried to make the game accessible by providing a font option for dyslexics which helps with reading. It's little details like which show that the developers care. One complaint I have is that the crew deaths feel too random.
What a little gem this game is. Basically it's a chose your own adventure with some pixel graphic sprayed on the top. The graphic part is not necessary but the developer gets extra pint for the effort. But what an exciting story! Although not strictly a hard SF is goes close to classic SF books, at time shamelessly borrowing ideas from those. Had a nostalgia trip playing this. Will definitely play again to try different choices.

My recommendation is fully at your disposal.
Outside of the absolutely infuriating they/them woke ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, this game is alright however it crashes all the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ time and that's extremely annoying.
This game is a bit more like an interactive novel than a fully interactive game, but I really love what they've done with it. The story is very engaging and stays with you after you played it. It reminded me a bit of In Other Waters.
что б меня да кто в это убожество вообще может играть?
While the game's current state leaves much to be desired, this analysis illuminates the potential and operational advantages that a polished UI/UX could offer, particularly when viewed through the lens of addressing broader human interaction challenges: The game's interface and experience, despite their current shortcomings, hint at the untapped potential for a more tactile, "clicky and gritty" user experience that could revolutionize interactive storytelling. Unlike traditional visual novels, this platform already incorporates a space-adventure setting, offering a unique environment for dynamic narrative progression and user engagement. The interface allows for a level of user interaction that goes beyond simple text choices, potentially incorporating multimedia elements such as audio cues, visual overlays, or dynamic animations to further enrich the existing space-adventure storytelling. These enhancements could elevate the interactive fiction experience, making it more immersive and engaging within its established sci-fi context. Improved informational feedback could further enhance player understanding and immersion by providing contextually relevant details about choices and their consequences, addressing the current lack of such feedback alongside misanthropic writing. These innovations would maintain the relaxed reading experience characteristic of the genre while elevating its narrative depth and interactivity within the space-adventure framework. However, the current focus on shock value, horror elements, and narratives that lean to the void not only alienates some users but also fails to fully capitalize on the medium's storytelling capabilities within its sci-fi setting. By refining the UI/UX with an emphasis on meaningful interaction and ethical engagement, the game could set a new standard for interactive fiction in the space-adventure genre. This approach would not only enhance the player experience but also demonstrate how innovative interface design can elevate storytelling across various digital platforms. The potential for improvement lies in balancing engaging mechanics with thoughtful, impactful narratives that resonate with a broader audience, moving beyond mere shock tactics to create truly immersive and thought-provoking experiences within its sci-fi context. ## Intuitive Interface Design By focusing on intuitive design principles, the game could transform hollow choices into meaningful interactions within its space-adventure setting. This approach not only enhances player engagement but also serves as a testbed for solving complex human-computer interaction problems. The lessons learned here could be applied to critical systems in healthcare, education, or disaster management interfaces, where clear, intuitive design can have life-changing impacts. ## AI-Driven Adaptive User Experience Implementing AI-driven systems that adapt to user behavior without invasive data collection could create a more personalized experience within the game's sci-fi narrative. This approach respects user privacy while still offering tailored content. For example, AI could analyze player decisions to dynamically adjust narrative paths, difficulty, or suggest alternative choices that align with individual playstyles, all within the context of the space adventure. Additionally, AI-driven systems could refine informational feedback by presenting players with insights into their decision-making patterns or highlighting overlooked story elements—enhancing both immersion and replayability in the game's unique setting. ## Streamlined Information Delivery A refined UI/UX could provide clearer, more contextual information to players within the space-adventure framework. This addresses the current lack of informational feedback, making the game more responsive and engaging. For example, multimedia-enhanced feedback—such as visual indicators of choice consequences or auditory cues tied to narrative shifts in the sci-fi story—could guide players without overwhelming them. This could include dynamic color-coding of dialogue options, subtle background music changes reflecting the story's mood, or visual cues indicating the weight of a decision within the narrative. This showcases how complex information can be conveyed efficiently in narrative-driven situations—a skill applicable in fields ranging from educational software to complex data visualization platforms. ## Ethical Engagement Design By moving away from randomly punitive measures and "one correct answer" scenarios, the game could pioneer ethical engagement design within its space-adventure narrative. This approach focuses on rewarding exploration and critical thinking rather than rote memorization or chance, aligning with the game's sci-fi themes. Such a model could influence educational software design, promoting more effective and enjoyable learning experiences. ## Operational Efficiency and AI-Assisted Development From a development standpoint, focusing on a well-designed UI/UX can significantly reduce long-term operational costs, even within the complex framework of a space-adventure game. A more intuitive interface means fewer support tickets, lower training requirements for new players, and increased player retention. Additionally, leveraging AI-powered tools for prototyping and testing could significantly reduce development time and costs by automating repetitive tasks like bug detection or interface optimization, particularly useful in a narrative-rich sci-fi setting. These tools would allow designers to focus on creative aspects of the game while ensuring smoother production pipelines. ## Innovative Feedback Collection Rather than relying on invasive data collection, the game could implement innovative ways to gather meaningful feedback within its space-adventure context. This could include in-game surveys tailored to specific moments in gameplay or AI-driven sentiment analysis of player interactions within the game's sci-fi environment (e.g., dialogue choices or pacing preferences in space-based scenarios). Such systems would provide valuable insights for continuous improvement while maintaining ethical standards and user trust. These potential improvements highlight how innovative UI/UX design in game development—enhanced by thoughtful integration of multimedia elements and AI-driven systems—can have far-reaching implications, especially within the context of a space-adventure interactive fiction. By viewing game design through the lens of solving broader human interaction challenges, we open up possibilities for advancements that extend well beyond entertainment, potentially impacting critical areas of human endeavor while maintaining ethical standards and prioritizing user experience in complex narrative environments.

Text based game where you choose 4-8 (difficulty dependent) crew members each with a job and different positive and negative personality traits. You are an AI that has to find them a world to live on. There is some good writing but like most games like this it is often too limiting, traits and choices are rarely logically used, death can be too random (extremely random on some planets/stations), and you need to try to manage fuel and food as is the common thing in survival space games which just adds even more randomness that never does anything interesting. Simple but can be good on the more interesting planets and I liked the ending I reached. No ship events or crew interaction outside of planets.
