The Artifact of Ancients

I do not like giving negative reviews, but given the technology behind this, its deserved. First off, its a very short story, my 31 minutes includes 8 minutes of the game, when I was called away from the computer and exited the game. There is no pause or save system, so i had to start again. Its basically an artificial voice reading a story that sounds like the outline for a movie or a book. The characters are not fleshed out though some are named, and their activities are simply a case of "they did this", "they did that", "they knew this", they felt that". There is no tension to the story either in the narrative, or the voice narrating it. Its totally neutral. It certainly would not keep a young child happy if it was a bedtime story! The final straw was when I had finished I was offered the option of starting over or leaving, and the quit button didn't work. The art work is about what you expect, slightly distorted figures trooping through an undefined environment. More experienced gamers than I could probably name the games where these figures originated. Its the second AI game I have played this month and has the same problem as the first. Its not convincing! There is no world in which to immerse yourself, no characters to become interested in, and a rather boring story that has no details of the adventures the characters experience. Throw in the lack of a pause button or save, and you are stuck on your computer for the 25 minutes or so that it takes the AI voice to work its way through the story in a voice that lacks the subtle expressions and variations found in the voice of a human reader. AI still has a long way to go before it can successfully take over the job of game creators.

[/quote] [b]Scripting Ventures[/b] talvez seja o dev mais sem vergonha da Steam. O jogo consiste em imagens geradas por IA de fundo. Algumas com dedos a mais, mão em lugares errados, etc. Um texto sem graça é lido por uma voz robótica. Só isso, e mesmo assim, há vários problemas técnicos. Em tela ultrawide o texto fica cortado. Não há como voltar cenas, não há como mudar velocidade da voz. Tão ruim, mas tão ruim, que reportei e removi o jogo permanentemente da minha biblioteca.
