This is the definition of a hidden gem. It’s a cool game where you customize your drones and their behaviour, in order to complete missions and unlock new parts to create even stronger bots. Pros: + Unique game, I don’t know anything even remotely similar. + A neat way in how you program your drone. + Immense depth in the custom behavior that you can create. + A wide range of diverse parts that you can mix and match. + Every challenge is a different problem that you need to solve in a creative way. + Progression is very rewarding with new upgrades on every solved objective. + The dev is very responsive and open to feedback. Cons: - It’s still in early access so it feels a bit rough at times, but still it has almost no bugs and a lot of content. - The difficulty is a bit much, the tutorial helps a lot early on but is lacking in later missions. - PvP suffers from a lack of players.
Great game very stable for an Early Access title. As someone mentioned, it's a hidden gem. The UI is remarkably clear for a game with this much complexity. The tips are easy to understand and genuinely helpful. Keep up the great work!
For an early access game, it is pretty solid at the moment. I've only found 1 bug so far and the creator has been very reactive in a response. I'm so glad so who loved carnage heart had the drive to actually come up with not just a clone, but decently inspired unique version. The ability to have multiple chips, one for each part is just genius. I've mostly played with the programming and so far so good. I can't wait to see the game becomes more more polished and the community grow.
Absolutely wonderful puzzle programming game!! Way more depth than I was expecting from an initial glance, would absolutely recommend!
I've only scratched the surface but every time I play this game I'm blown away by how good and underrated it is. If you don't know what you're getting into, I'd say this is a unique game, similar to a Zachlike where you code stuff and see the results. Terranny is less puzzle-like (compared to a Zachtronics game) but more satisfying and creative. It might not push you as hard to be efficient or achieve a perfect design but watching the combat unfold is so awesome, it reminds me of watching BattleBots on TV. The tutorial and hand holding so far have been PERFECT, and I'd never expect that from an early access game. The missions I've played so far have also been perfectly designed and the challenges are super fun (and not really secondary since challenges unlock important components, so the game encourages you to play the same mission in a completely different way which will require you to restrategize). Content-wise, I've only played 4 hours and this is an early access review but I'm sure I'll be playing this game for many years to come, I still have so many missions left, the EA roadmap seems thrilling, there's PVP combat, there's workshop... It's one of a kind and I completely recommend Terranny, just get it already!
Excellent engineering/programming game. I'm still learning the basics but I can tell it will be a lot of fun.
Video: https://youtu.be/-meKDJqO2R4 I'm not into drone programming. I got a free key for it to make a video, figured I'd give it a shot anyway. It's not my kind of game because I'm just really not into programming anymore. There was a time that I was. Programming was so cool, and it was exactly what I wanted to do. But, as time went on I realized I only like to program in a few places. HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Excel Formulas. So, yeah. Still, it's always worth giving a game a shot. You never know how you'll feel about it. I think this is a pretty solid drone building game, with some robot fighting too. If you like programming drones, or programming with a visual language, I think there's a high likelihood that you're going to enjoy this. From what I can tell it feels pretty robust, with a ton of different things you can actually do. I feel like it's a very promising game, and the right audience will absolutely love it.
