Fun game to play while waiting for something else to boot up. It is much easier to play on controller.
Fun learning curve while trying to give Teddy the voyage of a lifetime.
Teddy’s Volcanic Voyage is a thrilling and fast-paced platformer that keeps you on your toes as you race against an impending flood. It’s a great game to kill time. Would definitely recommend to everyone!
This game feels nostalgic in a number of ways. Sure, there is the bit-style graphics and the (seemingly) simple premise of moving upwards, ad infinitum. But, oddly enough, the most nostalgic part for me is the brutal learning curve, and that seems very much intentional. I like it because it shows the game's faith in its players. The tutorial teaches you the bare-bones basics, and then you immediately have to learn to leverage the rather complex set of tools in your toolbox to escape rising waters that are constantly nipping at your heels. It's quite stressful and tricky and frustrating. But, as a result of all that, it is gratifying. You *actually* feel like you've accomplished something when you improve and that is precisely because the game is tough. I've only put in a couple dozen or so runs at the moment, so I can't speak to how the game escalates, but the start is very promising and I look forward to more feelings of accomplishment (by way of significantly more feelings of panic and frustration)...
