Tantal, developed by Dnovel and published by My Way Games, is a compact indie title that experiments with blending two distinct gameplay styles—side-scrolling platforming and match-three puzzle mechanics—into a single, continuous experience. It’s a game built on a straightforward foundation, but its hybrid approach gives it a unique rhythm that separates it from more traditional entries in either genre. Rather than focusing on narrative or expansive systems, it directs all of its attention toward how these mechanics interact, resulting in an experience that feels focused, if somewhat limited in scope. The premise is intentionally simple. You take control of a character driven by the pursuit of valuable crystals, moving through a series of levels filled with obstacles, collectibles, and puzzle segments. There is little emphasis on storytelling, and the game doesn’t attempt to provide deeper context for its world or characters. Instead, it relies entirely on its gameplay loop to maintain engagement, using its colorful environments as a backdrop for a steady progression of challenges. What defines Tantal is how it merges its two core systems. Platforming sections require careful movement, timing, and precision as you navigate hazards and gather resources, while puzzle segments introduce match-three mechanics that must be solved to advance. These elements are not separated into distinct modes but are woven together, creating a flow that shifts between action and problem-solving. This combination can feel refreshing, as it keeps players engaged by alternating the type of challenge they face. At its best, the game finds a satisfying balance, where quick reflexes and strategic thinking complement each other. The pacing leans toward a more active style than most puzzle-focused games. Match-three sections often impose limits on moves or require efficient solutions, adding a sense of urgency that aligns with the faster tempo of the platforming segments. This creates a consistent sense of forward momentum, though the transitions between the two styles can occasionally feel uneven. Players who prefer one type of gameplay over the other may find themselves more engaged in certain sections than others. Level design gradually builds on the game’s core ideas, introducing new variations and increasing complexity as you progress. Early stages serve as an introduction to the mechanics, while later levels demand more precise execution and thoughtful planning. However, the game’s ideas do not expand significantly beyond their initial framework. While the challenges become more demanding, they rarely introduce fundamentally new mechanics, which can lead to a sense of repetition over time. Visually, Tantal adopts a bright and minimalist aesthetic that prioritizes clarity. The environments are easy to read, ensuring that both platforming and puzzle elements remain accessible even as the difficulty increases. While the art style is functional and cohesive, it lacks a strong visual identity that might make it more memorable. The audio design follows a similar approach, providing simple, unobtrusive support for the gameplay without standing out as a defining feature. The game’s limited scope is one of its most noticeable drawbacks. While the hybrid mechanics are interesting, they are not explored deeply enough to sustain long-term engagement. The experience feels concise, offering a focused set of challenges rather than a fully developed system with extensive variation. Additionally, the combination of genres, while creative, may not fully satisfy players looking for a more dedicated platforming or puzzle experience. Despite these limitations, Tantal succeeds as a small but inventive project. It takes familiar ideas and combines them in a way that feels fresh, delivering moments where its mechanics align to create a genuinely engaging flow. It doesn’t aim to be expansive or complex, but it offers a clear and consistent experience built around its central concept. In the end, Tantal stands as a modest yet creative entry in the indie space. Its hybrid design provides a unique twist on established genres, even if it doesn’t fully realize the potential of its ideas. For players looking for a short, engaging experience that blends action and puzzle-solving, it offers a worthwhile, if brief, diversion. Rating: 7/10

Если бы я решил составить список лучших игр, Tantal был бы номинантом за оригинальную идею. Пока это очень не обычно и определенно стоит вашего внимания.
Стоит своих денег, рекомендуем пока скидка в честь выхода.
The essence of the game is simple, collect crystals and coins, as well as collect puzzles, but the gameplay itself can take a couple of hours. The game justifies its cost .
I loved platformers as a kid. This game is a joy for me. Nice-looking graphics, and a good soundtrack adds to the atmosphere.
