Bring back so much memories of Battle City on NES! Updated gameplay with upgradables, tougher enemy and good graphics. Tougher enemy towards the later levels, and tougher map situation too will surely give you a challenge. I tried Survival too and it's harder than you think. Haven't found any glitch and exploitables yet though :) Game is also stable to run.
while this is a very simple game, I have found it to be alot of fun!! I really hope they make a sequel
It's all alright until level 10. Screw those laser tanks.
With or without the nostalgia factor this is simply cool. Unreal Engine based, includes 23 different levels as well as bosses and 5 different overall area designs. Comes with a point based upgrade-your-tank system, which slightly forces you sometimes to do a respec. Power-ups will become more powerful and their drop rate increases the further you progress. Once you've finished the game you will be able to continue in something that is much similar to a new game plus mode. I have no idea how often this could be repeated, seen people on level 60+. Go get if you're into local co-op, I think this is were Tank Brawl really shines. What would I wish for: 4-player local co-op and a larger variety of weapons. The developers promised that they will add a level editor once they have reached 3.000 sold copies, so go tell your mums. BTW: I am not paid to write this, actually I am just wasting precious spare time...
I really wanted this game to be a remake of Tunneler.exe. C'Mon, the green and red tanks? It is not the same. It employs some of the same mechanics but what it's really missing is that huge map where you and the other player are trying to find each other and then destroy each other. Here the maps aren't really large enough to allow for that. Here the mechanic has to do with tanks as disposable baddies, which works well to its own advantage. The game does have a solid amount of content and seems fair at $4. That said, it is a nice, well-made game. I don't regret buying it, even if I probably won't play it much. If it had a mode where we were randomly spawned on a large map, that'd be something I'd play a lot.
Horrible level design. I got this game because it was one of few local co-op games on steam but it's just not worth it. The worst offenders were a boss who, if you play with a friend, has projectiles that go invisible and are impossible to counter, and the following level you can literally not see your tank, your friend's tank, or any enemy tanks or projectiles. Haven't played the survival because we were too fed up by time we finished the campaign. Absolutely can not recommend.
Terrible cheaply made game. Controls are only 4 directional and the hit boxes range from super tight to how the hell did that explosion hit me. First boss fight has the boss aimed and shooting at you so unless you dodge the split second you enter through the gate you'll die or take a hit. Upgrades are super basic and don't show on the tank.
Pretty good little tank arcade shooter. Not awesome but fun to play. Somewhat reminiscent of 80's arcade classic like "Commando" Start rather basic, but the level get better and more challenging as the campaign move on. 23 levels in the campaign, plus survival mode plus 2 players coop. Edit: now a level editor is also available, plus community levels
