Now, before I write this know I am not a footballer. In fact, I am a football noob. So this is written with that as the background. I enjoy this game. You can pick it up fairly quickly, but as you go there are plenty of little nuances you can introduce to develop your team. I like that my team is basically entirely open to customisation and I am playing with family and friends. I get to call my brother in law names when he misses an open goal. The graphics are basic but do the job fully, and it is enjoyable to sit back and watch each turn play out. The game doesn't cost the earth and fills a childhood niche for those of us who remember playing these games in pubs and arcades. Go on. Buy it. You might just love it.
Very nice cheap Indi-Game, too pity, noone is playing. But even fun vs. CPU

This game is really fun to play. Soccer in turn-based strategy form definitely works. Awesome value for price. Grab it!
TableTop Soccer, developed and published by Dancing Developers, takes the universally familiar sport of football and reimagines it as a turn-based tactical experience rather than a real-time simulation. Instead of fast reflexes, analog dribbling, and cinematic stadium presentation, the game centers on calculated positioning, prediction, and strategic foresight. The result is something closer to a board game interpretation of soccer, where each movement carries weight and every decision can influence several turns ahead. It is an unconventional approach to the genre, but one that gives the sport a thoughtful, almost chess-like structure that distinguishes it from mainstream football titles. At its core, TableTop Soccer operates on a simultaneous turn-based system. Both players plan their moves within a limited timeframe, selecting how their athletes will move, pass, shoot, or defend before the turn resolves. This design creates a layer of mind games absent from real-time sports simulations. Rather than reacting instantly to an opponent’s move, you must anticipate what they are likely to do and position your team accordingly. Predicting a pass lane, setting up a slide tackle, or orchestrating a multi-step offensive push becomes a strategic puzzle. The tension arises not from twitch reactions but from the possibility that your opponent has outmaneuvered you in the planning phase. The mechanics are deliberately streamlined to maintain clarity. Actions such as curved shots, lob passes, tackles, and combination plays provide enough variety to allow for creative tactics without overwhelming players with excessive complexity. Movement ranges and positioning rules are clearly defined, reinforcing the board game feel. Because each turn unfolds simultaneously, there is always a sense of suspense as the game resolves both players’ decisions at once. A carefully orchestrated attack can collapse if an opponent correctly anticipates your move, and a defensive stand can quickly shift into a counterattack with the right prediction. One of the strongest aspects of TableTop Soccer is its multiplayer structure. The game supports both live matches and asynchronous play, allowing players to compete at their own pace. The asynchronous mode is particularly notable, as it lets participants take turns over extended periods, receiving notifications when it is their move. This approach makes the game accessible for players who may not have time for uninterrupted sessions, and it lends itself well to strategic thinking between turns. Managing multiple matches simultaneously adds to the sense of a persistent competitive environment rather than isolated quick games. Progression systems add another layer of engagement. Players earn experience and can unlock abilities that slightly differentiate their team, providing a sense of growth and personalization. Leaderboards and rankings contribute to the competitive appeal, encouraging continued participation. While the customization depth is modest compared to large-scale sports franchises, it is sufficient to give players goals beyond individual matches. Visually, TableTop Soccer embraces simplicity. The presentation resembles a digital tabletop field, prioritizing clear lines of sight and readable positioning over flashy animations or broadcast-style immersion. There are no roaring crowds or elaborate stadium environments; instead, the focus remains squarely on the strategic board. This minimalist approach reinforces the tactical emphasis but may feel underwhelming to players expecting the spectacle of traditional sports games. Sound design is similarly restrained, providing functional feedback rather than immersive commentary. The game’s niche identity is both its greatest strength and its limitation. Players seeking the adrenaline rush of real-time football simulations may find the pacing slow or methodical. However, those who appreciate strategy games, turn-based mechanics, and competitive mind games will likely find the format refreshing. By transforming soccer into a cerebral contest of prediction and positioning, TableTop Soccer offers an alternative interpretation of the sport that emphasizes intellect over reflex. Ultimately, TableTop Soccer succeeds in carving out a distinct space within the sports genre. It strips the game of football down to its tactical essence and rebuilds it as a strategic duel that rewards careful planning and psychological awareness. While it lacks the visual spectacle and broad appeal of mainstream sports titles, it compensates with thoughtful design and flexible multiplayer options. For players who enjoy competitive strategy and want to experience soccer from a new perspective, TableTop Soccer provides a surprisingly engaging and deliberate take on the beautiful game.
