Interesting puzzle game with unique mechanics, definitely worth checking out. It's relatively short, but polished and intriguing, reminds me somewhat of yankai's pyramid or hyperrogue (mostly due to the odd ways you interact with shifting geometry).
👍👍

Syzygy is a puzzle game with one major gameplay element: your character is able to change the tiling of the environment to either consist of triangles, squares, or hexagons between each movement. As your character can only move to touching tiles, the change in the level's geometry changes which tiles are touching, and therefore changes your movement options! The game introduces new mechanics that necessitate the use of the core gameplay element. The level design is clever, and the mechanics are well-introduced and don't overstay their welcome. Learning how the mechanics interact with each other was quite fun! It is far from an easy puzzle game, but it is well worth the effort if you find yourself enjoying the core gameplay. Aesthetically, the game is very charming. The main character* is adorable, the pixel-art style and designs are fun, and the level 'names' are intriguing. There are so many details to look out for when transitioning between the level geometries, whether it be character designs, background elements, or even the UI elements themselves. And, these details are only compounded upon as the game progresses. The game also shares its name with one of my favorite English words: syzygy! An astronomical term referring to the alignment of three or more celestial bodies (a "common" one for us would be the Sun, Moon, and Earth aligning to create an eclipse!). The developer left an announcement about their decision to make the game free, and I wanted to take the time to say that I thoroughly enjoyed my playthrough of this game, and I hope they are well. :)
Completed. Was Interesting.
Such a unique concept that works in really cool ways, highly recommend for anyone who likes puzzles
Incredibly difficult and mind-blowing puzzles.
