The game is dead. Don't waste your money. The current state is only worth a couple of hours of playing. Also, you'll find many of your friends dont want to bother to learn the mechanics. (i did)
Sort of fun for a couple of bucks - was anticipating more updates but there's been nothing for 2 years.

Playing with 5 to 8 players requires changing the controller input settings within the games options. Doing so, however, means that you can no longer have both arms outstretched at once, which I think is necessary for certain weapon actions. This is because rather than making it so each arm is left and right button, it's left and right trigger. Being as the triggers on a Xbox One controller are on a shared axis when in direct input mode (over 4 players) the game can't differentiate between zero triggers pressed and both triggers pressed equally. The output is the same (middle of axis output)

Hi guys, me Sheeveryn here again, big fan from gamers streaming live, i feel like the new update sort of nerfs players movements, i do like exhausting your character but over all they feel really slow. I have also noticed a lot of the time that the characters appear weightless or seem to be able to float on top of your enemies. basically it feels like a lot less gravity which isnt the best to feel in my opinion. loving the new armour and hero mode that really encourages people to vs their friends. Now the best thing i feel about the update is the combat movement, it finally has more control and feels like i can co ordinate with my opponent and even try to parry most of the attacks. But yes over all game is heading in the right direction, i know you guys a a small team but great job, over all im for the change in combat movement/controls and new items of armour that look and sound kewl. but id have to say am a little disapointed in the lower gravity and abilities like dashing are not as fast. Thank you agian keep up the good work.
UPDATE PLS !!!!
Abandonware. Devs abandoned the game in early access as is unfortunately all too common

"Gang beasts meets gladiator combat... best local multiplayer game on PC that I have played in a while." - This was my review from April 1st 2017, that was 3 and a half months ago, and that statement I made has changed alot since then. Although I still love playing this game, it's still very slapstick, but humorously complex at the same time. SWORDY isn't a complex game, far from it, but the complexity comes from gruge matchs and LMS's between the last two or the last round, and the on the fly tactics you make as you go along, trying to win. The game is fun in short brusts, which is the main reason I retract the "best local multiplayer game on PC that I have played in a while" statement. In my eyes the 5 main compontents of a couch-coop game are (in my order of importance): - Teamwork/Rivaly (✓) - Long Play Sessions (✕) - Replayable (✓/✕) - Strong Concept (✓) - Sense of Progress (✕) If you know you can play this game frequently with friends and you like the concept, get it, but if you are looking for the best on the market right now, I would recommend Ultimate Chicken Horse. That's not to say I hate this game, I love it at times, but its simply too inconsistent to play sparingly.
