So Ill say this game has tons of potential and at it's price I hope players give it some support. I like the graphics and landscape. The many crafting stations and potential to build in depth complex ingredients are nice but seem like the recipes could become a grind. The building is ok but missing many options like wedge corner roof pieces. The pace the character moves is way to slow and needs to be speed up. I spent hours running around and dying from dehydration and starvation until i found the camp with merchant NPC's. Only way to obtain food. I couldn't find any animals to harvest. I'm keeping watch on this one because with some editing it's going to be alot of fun.
gameplay: 3/10 (promising but massivly lacks content) graphic: 6.5/10 (looks kinda nice, but nothing special) sounds: 2/10 (missing music) for players: -tl;dr: the game feels like early beta stage at most -no goal -pretty lifeless, mostly no animals in world, animals also seems to be non aggressive on combat with bow for developer: - axe dmg bug multiplayer (lower dmg as intented) - multiplayer missing server password option - multiplayer loading bug if loading from a started round saved world doesn't load -multiplayer chat bug: visibility of more as ~30 chars get cut off -missing automove function and key -energy bar missing -missing useful tooltips for some items, for example hammer have no information that its used for deconstruct -full inventorys of crafting stations lead to flying away items or even loss -simple door lock with key don't work, metal doorlock therefor is a nice concept, just should be extended to 8 numbers, so it couldn't get bruteforced that easy -structures have far too less hp -missing range indicator of claimboard and too low claimed range for claimboard -furnace and campfire "turn on" don't change to "turn off" -logs of trees flying far too far away -please set milestones/goals into the game, no real reason to play it right now
Surviving West seems like a great game honestly, I was impressed immediately when I opened it, I knew I was in for a pleasant experience. Unfortunately, I can very easily see why it is in early access, as about 1 hour in I felt as though I had seen everything there was to do, and didnt feel motivated to really do any of it. Honestly a good, promising game, but I cant recommend it right now, hopefully in 6 months or so itll be more fun to play. 7/10- will check back :)

good early game lot of potential can't wait to see end resaults
Yea !!! the Dev God heard me, multiplayer fixed :). Cool game, my wife and I are always on the look out for games we can play together. (she needs lots of help hehe). The game is fun to play, and very nice graphics even dough they are cartoonist. Its still has a few quirks, but he's working on it at least unlike some other games. Its not hard core, so those who like real hard challenges may find it too easy, its more laid back, take tour time kinda game. So far those I've played with are very nice, some very helpful...and if you need help, the dev is on discord and will talk to you.
I like it for sure. Sure there is some minor things that could be better. But for the price i think it's worth it to 100%. And it can only be better over time!
Surviving West is an intriguing blend of survival sandbox, frontier simulation, and light storytelling set in a stylized interpretation of the American Wild West, developed and published by Nemo Studios. Rather than leaning entirely into cinematic shootouts or outlaw power fantasies, the game approaches the setting from a grounded survival perspective—placing the player in an unforgiving, sparsely populated wilderness where thirst, hunger, weather, and isolation pose just as much danger as bandits or wildlife. From the moment you step into the dusty expanse, the game communicates that success isn’t guaranteed. Resources are limited, travel is taxing, and progression must be earned through patience, adaptation, and smart decision-making. The western frontier becomes not a mythologized playground, but a harsh and indifferent landscape that demands respect. Gameplay centers on gathering resources, crafting tools, constructing shelter, defending yourself, and gradually establishing a foothold in a world that initially feels hostile. The crafting and building systems are straightforward but flexible, allowing players to build functional homesteads, ranches, or improvised camps depending on their playstyle. Unlike some survival games that overwhelm the player with sprawling tech trees, Surviving West favors incremental, believable progression—better tools require better materials, and expansion requires exploration rather than grinding. Hunting becomes essential not just for food, but for crafting supplies and trade goods, and the game’s wildlife AI provides enough unpredictability to keep encounters interesting. Meanwhile, the day-night cycle and weather system encourage planning, as extreme heat or frigid nights can quickly drain health if players are unprepared. These layered systems create a survival loop that feels purposeful rather than repetitive. Human threats and social interaction add another dimension. The frontier isn’t empty—rival settlers, travelers, and bandits occasionally cross your path, and these encounters can lead to conflict, trade, or reluctant alliances. Combat is functional rather than flashy, emphasizing positioning, timing, and ammunition conservation rather than frantic gunplay. Firearms feel appropriately weighty and limited, reinforcing the sense that every bullet matters. Settlements, outposts, and NPCs give the world a sense of life and evolving stability, offering opportunities to sell goods, accept tasks, or gather information. This subtle narrative framing helps the game avoid the loneliness that often plagues survival sandboxes, creating a believable frontier ecosystem that reacts to your presence. The lack of heavy-handed storytelling allows player-driven narratives—struggles to survive drought, accidental shootouts, desperate scavenging trips—to become memorable moments. Visually, Surviving West adopts a stylized, painterly aesthetic rather than attempting gritty realism, and the choice pays off. Wide landscapes, sun-beaten plains, mesas, forests, and scattered settlements feel atmospheric and inviting without requiring massive technical resources. Lighting plays a significant role—long shadows at sunset, ominous stormclouds rolling in, or moonlit horizons reinforce mood and environmental awareness. Sound design further supports immersion, blending wind, wildlife, distant gunfire, creaking wood, and sparse musical cues that evoke solitude rather than constant tension. The environment becomes a character, and its audio-visual cues subtly guide players through danger, opportunity, or calm reflection. Like many indie survival titles, Surviving West is not without flaws. Pacing can feel slow early on, particularly if players struggle to locate essential resources or adapt to environmental threats. Some systems, such as AI behavior, combat responsiveness, or crafting interface flow, occasionally feel rough around the edges, reflecting the game’s scale and development constraints. Those expecting large-scale quests, cinematic narrative arcs, or high-octane action may find the experience too quiet or methodical. The open-world structure leaves much of the game’s momentum in the player’s hands, which may either feel empowering or directionless depending on individual preference. As with many sandbox experiences, repetition can set in if a clear personal goal isn’t established. Despite these limitations, Surviving West succeeds because it offers a survival experience grounded in thematic authenticity rather than genre convention. It captures the emotional appeal of frontier life—struggle, independence, discovery, danger, and quiet triumph—without romanticizing the difficulty. Every small victory feels earned, whether it’s building your first sustainable shelter, surviving a harsh storm, or taking down a predator with your last bullet. The game respects its players enough to let them learn through failure, adapt, and craft their own narrative rather than forcing them along a strictly defined path. For fans of survival games, western aesthetics, and emergent storytelling, Surviving West provides a compelling and thoughtfully constructed journey that rewards patience, resilience, and curiosity. It is a humble but memorable contribution to the genre—one that understands that surviving the frontier is not just about mastering systems, but about enduring the world itself. Rating: 6/10
Kontent też nie powala no i brak celu. Jeśli twórca popracuje nad tytułem to może coś z tego będzie. Na tą chwile pograć można by było za darmo i to jak ma się cierpliwość.
Very nice sandbox. Wonderful, beautiful landscapes. The game still has a lot to go through, but I like what is already there. The price is reasonable.
