wow game
A fun and surprisingly deep supermarket management loop, with excellent multiplayer roles, is undermined by tedious manual stock/pricing management and an absolutely enormous pile of glitches and multiplayer jank. Despite all that, the core simulation is enjoyable enough to make it an easy recommendation. +++ The core gameplay loop is very enjoyable. Buying items, restocking shelves, managing the counter, managing stock, making strategic business decisions, it's all very fun. There's really no actual fail state; but things can really slow down and business can be badly affected if you mess up. It's quite a difficult game to play correctly. ++ Multiplayer is very fun. There's plenty of jobs for everyone to do so they don't get bored. Single player is maybe a bit too chaotic; I think 2–4 players is the sweet spot. +/- Everything is very expensive and margins are very thin. You will be playing a long, long time before you fully upgrade your business. Probably at least 100 hours? -- Managing prices and stock is actually very annoying, especially on controller. There's no way to just say "keep everything at X% of market rate", or "automatically buy stock when below X", even with upgrades. -- Unreasonably expensive if you buy multiple copies and DLC to play with family members. --- Lots of glitches, especially in multiplayer. So many glitches. Online delivery order bags disappearing from existence, taking the pricey ingredients with them. Vehicles clipping into the environment and becoming stuck, even with the reset button. Restocker employees not managing stock correctly. Buying groceries while already having groceries causing the delivery to be lost. Customers and employees walking into the wall and getting permanently stuck. Customers walking around the stolen item detector, and phasing through any objects placed to block the path around. Loans not charging interest correctly. Being completely unable to interact with the bulk order mechanic. Being stuck holding the online delivery bag forever. Being unable to use the computer or the checkout. Multiplayer disconnects and desyncs. The list goes on. This is an extremely janky simulation game; more so than usual. Overall, a fun little simulation game.
