SUPER FLAIL

"SUPER FLAIL" is a 2D retro pixel top down wave survival brawler with a less common mechanic that's been ripped off from other, earlier games: your only weapon is a flail that swings around you as you move. Gameplay consists of sitting in an arena and moving in circles to make the flail spin around you and whack the little skull enemies that move towards you in waves. That's all there is to it. The game isn't completely free as you're expected to buy a "Steam Edition" for $1, which isn't much, but then there's significantly better free games available than this. The game was slapped together with the godawful GameMaker Studio video game construction kit. GameMaker Studio is a terrible kit, and results in terrible games. Here, resolution and controls are locked and can't be changed, which pushes this below the minimum acceptable standards for PC.

(도전 과제 100% 달성) 철퇴를 휘둘러 몰려오는 적들을 처치하는 게임. 최대한 오래 살아남는 것이 목표입니다. 보통, 어려움 2가지 모드가 있으며, 어려움 모드는 적의 물량이 증가하고 보스가 강력해집니다. 시작 시 플레이어에게 총 3개의 목숨이 주어지며, 적과 접촉하거나 적의 탄환에 맞게 되면 목숨을 잃게 됩니다. 일정 시간동안 철퇴에 강력한 효과를 주는 특수 능력은 목숨 당 3번씩 주어집니다. 게임을 진행하다 보면 총 5종류의 특수 능력을 해금할 수 있습니다. 특수 능력은 적들이 대량으로 몰려올 때 적절하게 사용할 수 있습니다. 적들을 일정량 이상 처치하게 되면 보스전에 진입하게 되고, 보스를 물리친 이후에도 게임은 무한히 진행됩니다. 철퇴는 플레이어의 움직임에 따라 관성이 붙기 때문에 약간의 컨트롤을 필요로 합니다. 적을 격파할 때의 타격감이 좋고, 난이도가 꽤 있어 매판마다 도전 욕구를 자극합니다. 도전 과제도 여러 번 플레이하다 보면 모두 달성 가능하여 킬링타임용으로 간단하게 즐기기 좋은 게임입니다.

It's simple and genius. That may be overstating it just a tad but I like it. It's good for when you need something to pass the time or need a different game to mix things up a bit.

I forgot why I wanted this game because it's not very good. The controls are terrible with the usage of the arrow keys and even with the thought of using a mouse wouldn't do well while trying to move your character clumsily around with a clumsy ball 'n' chain while countless enemies come at you, or rather you running into them while trying to swing that weapon all over the screen. Yes, I've seen some vids regarding how to get the Achievements but I feel the reason why they make it look somewhat easy is through dedicating their lives to getting them. ...Or they're just that good and I'm more of a Super "Fail" at Super Flail. Either way, it's a game I'm unwilling to spend further time to fully complete.
