Warning: Asset Flip!
Super Clown Puzzle is an asset flip, what Valve calls a "fake game". The "developer", Tero Lunkka/Valkeala Software, took the Unreal Engine 4 3D Platformer Project game assets from the real developers, Unreal University, rearranged it slightly, changed the name, and dumped the result onto Steam. They're attempting to scam people into buying this, so they can get your money for someone else's work. It gets worse... They lack depth and content, because they're just simplistic copies of demos or tutorials. In this case, "Unreal Engine 4 3D Platformer Project" is just a Youtube tutorial with linked code and assets to teach people how to make Unreal platformers, and doesn't have any merit as a proper, fully fledged PC game. It's just a minimum viable product, just enough to get through the non-existent quality control on Steam Direct. Not a real game. Asset flips don't involve any professional game development. Sure, sometimes they may change a few cosmetic things, swap out different assets etc, but at heart it's functionally identical to the asset they're ripping off. Asset flips like this are harmful to the gaming industry and to Steam because they reduce the visibility that sincerely made indie games should have, and make it harder for gamers to find real games from genuine developers. The poor quality of this game is reflected by how many people spent time with it. At the time of this review, SteamDB shows the all-time peak player number was only 2 players. This is a remarkably low number, and now, the only player activity occurs once or twice a month, presumably someone loading it up to see what it is then quickly uninstalling it. Considering there's over 130 million gamers on Steam and well over 140,000 games for gamers to choose from, the overwhelming lack of interest in this low quality game is to be expected. Given the defects and quality issues with the game, coupled with the unrealistic price, this is impossible to recommend. Because this is just a fake game/cash grab scam, and due to the sheer unethical nature of the developer, you should avoid this completely. Don't reward this morally bankrupt, unethical behaviour from Tero Lunkka/Valkeala Software.
Super Clown Puzzles – to gierka puzzle 3d w której omijamy pułapki i rozwiązujemy zagadki logiczne, żeby otworzyć drzwi do następnych pokoi. Da się zdobyć wszystkie osiągnięcia. ✅ Mi się podobała, polecam 👍😎
Super Clown Puzzles represents another entry in Tero Lunkka and Valkeala Software’s catalog of minimalist, mechanically straightforward games, this time focusing on a compact 3D puzzle-platforming experience set within a castle environment filled with hazards. The premise is simple and almost intentionally barebones: you take control of the Super Clown character and attempt to traverse a sequence of trap-laden areas in order to reach a final objective, typically marked by a collectible star that signals completion. Rather than building a layered narrative or expanding world, the game commits fully to a gameplay-first approach, though even that gameplay remains deliberately stripped down to its most basic components. At its core, the game revolves around navigating environmental dangers while solving light puzzle elements that gate progression. Players must jump across platforms, avoid obstacles such as spikes, rotating blades, and bursts of fire, and occasionally trigger mechanisms that open new paths forward. The puzzles themselves are less about intellectual challenge and more about execution—understanding the timing of hazards and committing to precise movement. This creates a rhythm of trial-and-error gameplay where success often comes from memorization and repeated attempts rather than discovery or creative problem-solving. While this structure can offer short bursts of satisfaction when a difficult section is finally cleared, it also introduces a degree of frustration, especially when failure results in immediate resets that erase recent progress. The difficulty curve is somewhat uneven, largely because the game does not introduce new mechanics or systems as it progresses. Instead, it builds challenge by stacking familiar hazards in tighter configurations, requiring faster reactions and more precise control. This approach works to a point, but it also reveals the limitations of the game’s design, as the lack of variety means that later challenges feel like extensions of earlier ones rather than meaningful evolutions. The collectible stars scattered throughout the level add a small incentive for exploration and completion, but they function more as checkmarks than as elements that deepen gameplay or unlock new possibilities. Movement and controls are functional but lack refinement, which becomes particularly noticeable in sections that demand accuracy. Jumps can feel slightly inconsistent, and character responsiveness does not always match the level of precision the game expects from the player. As a result, some failures feel less like a consequence of player error and more like a byproduct of the game’s limitations. This tension between intended challenge and mechanical roughness is one of the defining characteristics of the experience, and it can either add to the game’s quirky charm or detract from its enjoyment, depending on the player’s tolerance for such imperfections. Visually, the game adopts a simple 3D presentation that prioritizes clarity over detail. The castle setting provides a consistent backdrop, but environmental variety is minimal, and assets often feel repetitive. There is a certain functional readability to the design—hazards are easy to identify, and paths are generally clear—but the overall aesthetic lacks depth and polish. Animations are basic, and the world feels more like a constructed obstacle course than a lived-in environment. Sound design follows a similarly restrained approach, offering only the essentials without adding much atmosphere or personality. The game’s scope is notably small, with a single primary map and a limited set of objectives. This makes it accessible for short play sessions, and players can reasonably expect to see everything the game has to offer within a relatively brief amount of time. However, this brevity also limits its long-term appeal. Once the main objective is completed and collectibles are gathered, there is little reason to return, as the game does not feature alternate modes, procedural elements, or meaningful replay incentives. It is very much a one-time experience designed for quick engagement rather than sustained play. Despite its simplicity, Super Clown Puzzles does have a certain niche appeal. It embodies a straightforward, almost old-school approach to challenge-based design, where the focus is purely on overcoming obstacles without the distractions of complex systems or narrative layers. For players who appreciate minimalistic platformers or who enjoy exploring lesser-known indie projects, there is some value to be found in its directness and compact structure. However, for those seeking depth, polish, or innovation, the game is likely to feel underdeveloped and repetitive. In the end, Super Clown Puzzles is a modest and highly focused experience that delivers exactly what it sets out to do, but very little beyond that. Its reliance on basic mechanics, repetitive challenge design, and unrefined controls prevents it from standing out within the platforming genre. While it can provide a brief moment of engagement for the right audience, it ultimately feels more like a small experimental project than a fully realized game. Rating: 5/10
