Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0.57/day in the week to Aug 10 → 0.57/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,402 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Reviews
This game is a flawed gem. I cannot recommend it in a world where Sunless Skies and Space Rangers 2 exist. Pros: * Atmospheric writing * Ironman mode brings tension and weight to every decision * Feeling of crawling back into London port with a hold full of loot on last unit of fuel and 98 terror. Cons: * Quests and narrative needs to be repeated on captain death * Does not respect your time * Doles out the superb narrative with the little crack spoon
This game increased my reading grade level to higher than elementary

A painfully slow, oppressive slog. Also some of the best writing and atmosphere ever created. If you like games where you read a lot I would highly recommend, but it isn't for everybody.
Sunless Sea has an interesting concept. In a lovecraftian dark world you explore the sea, gather stuff, trade, stumble into stories, shoot sea monsters. The music is great and underlines the eerie setting. However, the gameplay makes it hard to access. You are thrown into the game with these tons of menus, not knowing what to do. The tutorial barely scratches the surface. I was traveling the same route over 3 ports several times, barely making enough money for the fuel and supply for the next trip. But I was wrong because I hadn't calculated for terror reduction and ship repairs. I had to sell all goods I had to scratch money together for another trip, hoping the best. A friend told me to start a new game on a lower difficulty. But clicking new game, there was no option to set the difficulty. Plus, it had autosaved over my previous game state, as I wasn't allowed to save manually. Seriously, you shouldn't need any skill to change the difficulty of a game. The gameplay is tedious und frustrating. Apparently, people are able to enjoy the game by reading tons of guides and by cheating or cheezing money. So you might be enjoying the game depending on your approach but I did not.
Great Dialogue yet boring mechanics going back and forth to report your status and earn resources at one single port is not a good design choice.
How to enjoy it: This game has two parts At the start it's about exploration and resource management, and it's great. But then you explore 90% of the map, and the only thing left to do is finishing the stories, including your Ambition. At this point the game is about finding better sources of fuel/supplies, optimizing your routes, trading items between. Every journey should give you some money. This way I never had to grind, as I was getting everything while progressing the stories. If you want to enjoy it, don't play by the rules. Save before challenges and reload as much as you want. It has nothing to do with skill, and failure just sets you back. Don't lose your mind. Don't eat your crew. This is not a roguelike.
great game. i'd love to figure out how to play it some day.
Лучшая графика это воображение, а эта игра лишь направит его нужное русло. Крайне увлекательный проект если вникнуть.
I've tried this game twice several years apart, and unfortunately my verdict is still that I hate playing it. The travel/mechanics are really slow and tedious, it's extremely easy to die or run out of money for essential resources if you didn't follow a guide from the get-go, and every death resets you to the beginning, so a) you can't actually finish any of the randomized quest lines to find out where they're going and b) due to death resetting everything, are forced to repeat the extremely slow, tedious travel to the non-randomized quests/plot points you've already seen. Just b) alone was enough for me to decide I wasn't going to spend any more time on this, since I would've had to rely on a Reddit guide to optimize money vs. travel so as to not to run out of fuel and doing so would have required me to rerun a lengthy quest / delivery run I'd already done. Honestly, when the game is an *RPG* I really find being able to actually finish plot threads and see where the stories are going a must. Having everything you were starting to get interested in evaporate because you didn't take the most profitable possible route your very first time out the gate isn't fun. If you're an extremely patient person who's willing to redo a lot of content + are fine with not getting to see where any of the stories are going, this game might be for you. If you, like me, are impatient and unwilling to beat your head against the same content unless it's a dynamic skill and/or reflex check, give this a miss.
