About
Eldritch gods. Cosmic horrors. Things beyond our understanding.
To merely gaze upon their form is to abandon all hope.
Or so they say. I've never seen anything I haven't been able to understand and explain clearly.
A comet has crash-landed in the middle of your living room! You feel its sinister pull, begging you to feed it… Against your better judgement, you give in to Hheily, a sentient comet who can shapeshift into anything– including a hot babe!
Though she may have a gentle nature, she hasn’t come to your planet by accident. What are you willing to sacrifice to win a kiss from the steamiest chick this side of the galaxy?
You’re not the only one who feels Hheily’s call: plants grow wild, colors around you intensify, and animals mutate. Her presence soon draws unwanted visitors that are desperate to feel the heat of her flame– at any cost. Worse yet, something malevolent from beyond space and time has followed her trail, lurking in the encroaching darkness.
Left without the energy to sustain herself, Hheily asks you to feed her flame and save the planet. But are you up to the task of blazing Hheily back to full strength before her fire is snuffed out? Can you win the heart of the girl who's shown you that reality is more than meets the eye?

Anyone who liked the first game is probably gonna like this one. It goes back to the roots of the first game. However some endings are fairly reliant on luck and some don't trigger correctly. The game laggs a bit when it saves. Also it can get pretty repetitive after about 1-2 hours. The visitors and events are randomized, so it's hard to get what you need for the true ending. You also need to make sure to get the order right and the game doesn't really tell you what you need to do, you just kinda have to brute force it, which is pretty annoying. Still a fun game for the first few hours and it gets annoying when trying to go for certain endings. It's not really worth the money. Wait for a sale before getting this one and maybe for a few patches.
I LOVE THIS GAME!! For me, this was the best game by far. It hit close to home with the mechanics of the first game and borrowed some of the seriousness of the plot of the first game. It made me tear up, laugh and go "awww" over and over. Our star-crossed lovers' story was all I could have wished for. Honestly, after the grandeur pf the second game, I went into this with low expectations, but man was I blown away. It is as if another level of greatness was unlocked in this niche little genre of games. And I have to say that the asburdity of the third act with
the parade slowly marching toward Hheily, the colours flying and the music sounding in the background
was perfect. As well as the second act with
all the people who were affected
. That really added a much-needed human element with a bunch of thought-provoking circumstances. The only complaint I had was that you could easily get soft-locked from progressing and have to load up a save point, which you had to do beforehand, unlike in the other games where you could simply press on a point in the ending branches and load up from that instance. All in all, I hope more and more games follow this one. I haven't had enough and I never will!

HHEILY DAY ONE
I've never played one of these games before, so my frame of reference is just the crazy story I got dropped into, and it was a 13/10 experience. From tip to tail I spent a little under 2 hours on my first playthrough, but it felt much longer as that time was PACKED with the panic of balancing time, figuring out what I wanted to do, scrambling to cover all colors of the rainbow, and keep in mind the direction I was building toward with my narrative choices. It was enjoyable, even the part that jump-scared me half to death. I know firmly that I got pretty lucky with my playthrough, still somehow missed out on sections of gameplay entirely, and my experience was frankly "what the ♥♥♥♥" enough that I kind of can't wait to go back in and figure out what to do to unlock any of the other 15-ish endings I counted. As spoiler-free as possible, if you're remotely intrigued by the premise, there's ample replay value in figuring out ordering to explore different paths -- maybe even one where nothing d̸̤͐̃͠ḭ̷̝̬̈́͌̈́ẹ̵̓̈́s̴̻̺͖̓͠! Though, who are we kidding-- cosmic horror isn't particularly known for its happy endings. Especially not for the average joe. :')
Worth it
As usual, the character design is on point and the voice acting is great. But I think gameplay-wise, this one might be the most fun yet. The ongoing color puzzle really gets you to think and try things differently across playthroughs, it's a great mechanic.
This game and the rest of its series is a perfect blend of comedy, romance, and Lovecraftian horror. These genres really should not work well together; all I can say is the author of this game is a genius. The horror elements are genuinely disturbing. While there are fewer jumpscares than your typical horror game, the cosmic and body horror are very well developed! It had my heart sinking into my stomach, and it's rare for a game's writing to make me feel that way. The humor is absolutely on-point, as always with this series. I laughed out loud so much while playing this game. Honestly I think the game is worth buying just for that! But there's more... I was surprised to find some very interesting commentary in the game's writing about the host club business! A welcome side to the chaos of this genre-mashed story. Can't spoil it though. The gameplay has also had a huge shift from the last games! I found the puzzles of finding, cultivating, and feeding colors very engaging. It is challenging, and if you care enough to get a lot of endings you will be replaying certain scenes many times. The addition of decision trees in many of the random events makes replaying much more engaging! It didn't feel nearly as much like a chore as I thought it would when I sat down to grind out the achievements. All in all, fantastic game. Would recommend to anyone who likes romance, comedy, Lovecraftian horror, and/or puzzle games.
tedious gameplay and missing quality of life features from the previous games
A great entry in the SFL series, it focuses heavily on that 'butterfly effect' type storytelling more than the previous entries, and combined with the gameplay might feel like playing 4D chess when pursuing completionism. I can recommend it for it's entertaining writing, and if you completed SFL: Date to Die For, this is a nice addition to the lore of SFL as a fan!
