Reviews
This is a sincerely made, but completely garbage quality amateur puzzle/action platformer, one of literally over 17,000 platformers on Steam, and yet somehow this manages to be one of the worst ones. This is a "climb up the level" platformer that relies on a die and retry gimmick (badly done). The idea is that you control a tomato, and you can slide around on platforms if and only if there's tomato sauce on the platform. Whatever. In the absence of that slidey sauce, you have to rely just on compressing and jumping to the left or right. This won't get you through the platformer levels, however, so you need more sauce. Thankfully, you create sauce when you die, so subsequent attempts have more sauce available to you. That's a lot of effort to explain something that works out to be a crap and unengaging mechanic, and when tied with some of the lowest quality technical delivery to ever insult gamers. From a technical perspective, the game doesn't meet basic minimum requirements that most PC gamers expect as standard. The visuals in this game are a complete joke, it's seriously just a bunch of MS-Paint sprites/images that look like they were lazily scrawled out over the space of a couple of hours. Like, with the mouse, it doesn't look like they even used a Wacom tablet or anything. It's so bad even pixel "art" would look better than this. Pure MSPaint. It's unclear if this is due to lack of budget to arrange someone who can create graphical assets properly, or lack of talent, regardless, the overall visual quality of the game is extremely low, enough on its own to deter gamers. There's no option to change the resolution and no useful graphics tweaks. There's no way to ensure this is running at the native resolution of your display. There's no guarantee this game will look right on any PC as a result of this hamfisted design decision. The very poor quality of this game puts it squarely on-par with ancient 1990's Flash/Java games, and given it's 2026 (and this was released not so far back in 2025), gamers and the industry expect and deserve better than this kind of low effort shovelware. These technical shortcomings push this game below minimum standards for any competently developed modern PC game. Now on to pricing and value for gamers. So, should you buy this game? Is this one of the best of the 140,000+ games on Steam? Success In Progress has the completely unrealistic cash grab price of around $5 USD, it's not worth it given the defects and shortcomings with the product, especially considering the sheer number of completely free, much higher quality games on Steam. For something this bad, that price tag is a delusion of grandeur. For comparison, the $5 asking price for this game could get you games like "Company of Heroes", "Fallout: New Vegas" or "Frostpunk". Quality, professionally made games like those are frequently on sale cheaper than this.SteamDB shows this managed a peak player count in the dozens before the gaming community collectively decided $5 USD wasn't worth it for this. The numbers don't lie. This failed to find any meaningful audience at the asking price.
Profile Features Limited! Valve have marked this game as "Profile Features Limited" at the time of this review. This is usually caused by poor sales figures and low community acceptance for the game (to date). Until this status changes, this game will not give you +1 to your Game Collector badge count, appear in profile achievements or any other Steam meta-accomplishments, nor can it be displayed in some profile showcases. If these factors are important to you, it may be worth holding off before buying this game.
At the end of the day, my reviews are intended to try help gamers find quality and avoid the dregs (with over 140,000 games on Steam... not all of them are masterpieces). If you think my review is wrong, definitely buy this, download it and play it... it's surely exactly the kind of game you'll love (but I doubt it will work out that way). Game reviews are for gamers to share their thoughts about games and help gamers choose where to spend valuable time or money. If my review helps you to grab or reject this game, then my job is done.

This is a highly addictive game. However, it causes me an insane amount of frustration. I get that the idea of the game is to fail so you can gain an advantage, I get it. But as an ADHD person, I get insanely frustrated by it. Of course, I admit it's more of a skill issue. Still, ADHDers beware! Paradoxically, the sound the tomato makes when it falls and becomes sauce is incredibly satisfying so I'm going to keep playing it. I'm still struggling in level 1.
