Very boring and uninspired.
Game is very boring, resource gathering simulator.
15 hours in and done with it all. This game is rushed to release to fast. Why even Version 1? Its NOT complete... And now... a buddy system... spent 100k on the real ocean... right... Thats not why we are here. We want to play games, Good content filled games. How about spent that money on development?!
First off, I do understand that this game is in Early Access. However the current content is lack-luster and the development cycle is pretty long. The game has been released for half a year now, but still hasn’t had a single Major content update yet. Performance is ♥♥♥♥ in the meantime, currently the map is just as, if not smaller in size than Below Zero. (Probably should have directed that $100,000 dollars they donated into actual development costs.) (But seriously though, the content updates we’ve gotten so far can be summed up like this: creatures getting scared when we smack them, and proximity chat.) Hopefully though, this review will be temporarily negative until the next few years. Do I recommend this in its current state? No. However I do know how competent these developers are, and hopefully they truly deliver. I probably won’t touch this game until they add the content features like the full story, map and the new vehicles and creatures. Will this game ever capture the same feeling and wonder I first had playing the original Subnautica? Probably not, but heres hoping.
unfiinished game. very unsatisfied.
when i play online opening my pda will pause the game for others player as i am the host hate this thing and there is no setting to remove it
EARLY ACCESS SPOILERS AHEAD: Let me start off by saying that I am very happy that this is multiplayer, you get to play Minecraft underwater with your friends and it's so much fun HOWEVER i wish they would've learned from Subnautica Below Zero how much they cannot write a story. Sure, your Early Access mission is to help heal the angel combs, but they always drop the ball when it comes to storytelling and missions. It would be GREAT if they would set goals in the top corner or something it took us nearly 4 hours to clear the last angel comb and go into the observatory WHICH WASNT EVEN THE OBSERVATORY, it was the alien ruins!? and most of the time was spent on google simply trying to find a YouTube video on where to even go to find stuff. I will happily change my review if the next update and/or full access can change some of these. Much to say, I was very disappointed in early access.
has a lot of potential but the map is too small wait till full release comes out to play it
It's fun with friends but I can't lie the content updates have been sparse. I get that it's a new game but I genuinely in good faith cannot recommend this game because there isn't much to do once you get 5 hours into the game. Once you discover just about everything on the map there really is no real progression other than survival which is fine I guess but just the lack of content is what makes it boring to me. The game isn't bad and I may revise this review once they add more but there just isn't anything to do as of now.
in the last update v 1.2 the game crashes before it even starts. the unreal engine won't even let me send a bug report "server unavailable" I followed every suggested resolution to it's end and it still crashes.
