I have always loved the Subnatica series. They did not disappoint with this one. Great story line, I look forward to seeing how it develops. Great work guys!!!

TL;DR: This is a good game that suffers from belonging to a franchise (and being compared to the previous game in the franchise). Nevertheless, I got invested in the story and cant wait to see what happens next (the game is in early access at this point). Comparison to the original game: - the user experience is more polished (most of the time); so many features were implemented to make your user experience nicer. unfortunately, this also means that, if you played the initial game, you will find this one too easy (almost like it holds your hand along the way) - the focus of this game is the story; and the story is good enough to carry the game. this also means that it's a complete different experience from the first game. the first game threw you in the middle of the water and said "Survive!". this game throws you on an unknown planet and tell you exactly where to go to progress - both the games follow a similar progression system. start with nothing, build better gear and better vehicles so that you can explore more and more of the environment. if you played the original game, you already know the system so it feels less impact. because of that, the "unknown" factor is almost missing in this game.
It took me about 26 hours to get through the early access content at a leisurely pace. It's a really beautiful game (on nice hardware). Super immersive; very easy to swim around and craft for hours on end without even worrying about hitting the next checkpoint. Definitely coming back for more once the story content is progressed.
Bro if subnautica 2 himself played this he would probably be like "Oh that me? Pure aura."
incredible early access experience
