About

Submarine Homesick Blues is a real-time management and survival game with tactical pause, inspired by FTL, set in a world where the Y2K bug didn't happen in 2000… but in 2030.

A massive failure in legacy systems caused the collapse of the planet, leaving it completely submerged. Humanity survives in patched-up submarines, sunken cities, and technology that still works… out of sheer stubbornness.

As the captain of a barely operational submarine, you must manage resources, crew, and critical systems while exploring procedurally generated regions, facing unpredictable events, and making decisions that can mean the difference between staying afloat… or being crushed by the pressure of the ocean.
The game unfolds in real time, but you can pause at any moment to plan, reassign tasks, and react to emergencies. Every run is different, and death is permanent.

All of this is accompanied by a 90s-era AI, complete with sarcastic remarks and a dangerous obsession with updating Windows at the worst possible moment.

It has potential and will be worth the mone in the future. At the moment though its not worth the cost, I couldnt even get 5 minutes worth of playtime out of the game. I look forward to seeing how it goes but very disappointed with how much i spent for what i did get so far....
Loved the 2D art and the Windows 98 vibe. The story and the frantic pace were great too. I want moree content!!!

FTL vibes, but underwater! 👏
Great game, very intuitive and amazing graphics... Super smooth to use and play..
loved the story mode. great graphics, fun humor, and an awesome soundtrack that really fits the game.
I’m very new to this type of game—and to gaming in general—but I wanted to try something different, and I’m really glad I found this one. At first, I felt a little intimidated. Strategy games have never seemed like something I would be particularly good at, and I fully expected to spend my first few runs losing because I had no idea what I was doing. But this turned out to be a great introduction to the genre. The difficulty curve feels very natural: the game gives you enough time to understand how everything works while gradually introducing new challenges. Before I knew it, I had stopped worrying about being bad at the game and was simply focused on learning, improving, and trying one more run. It made me feel more capable without ever making the experience feel too easy. I also love the game’s visual identity—the creatures, environments, backgrounds, music, and sound design all work beautifully together. Playing with headphones completely pulls you into its retro, slightly strange, yet surprisingly cozy atmosphere. It’s exactly the kind of world I enjoy getting lost in on a Friday evening after work. If you’re new to strategy games and feel intimidated by the genre, this might be a great place to start. I definitely recommend giving it a try!
I'm having a great time with this game. I love the nostalgic graphics, the music is great, and I really like the level design. I hope they add more submarines soon!
