Really good game from Guilty Gear series. The only thing I didn't like is the genre. I thought that Strive is going to be a fighting game and this is just... not a fighting game. I actually don't understand why the game is free cause such releases usually cost so much... Maybe some dlc-s are going to make the game as expensive as I thought it would be. Pros: - Free - Good graphics - Awesome soundtrack from Daisuke Ishiwatari - Millia's legs Cons: - The servers are a bit long to connect - Elphelt Valentine is in the game - Potemkin

Modeled estimate over time.
Bullsh*t without the blazing

Strive's servers are so bad that I can't even connect to them. Go play Guilty Gear Xrd or Accent Core +R instead
Note: Dead PvP game This game contains no meaningful single player content. There's no viably populated servers/active player population. This game cannot be played as intended.
This was an attempt to make a PvP hybrid battle royale/MOBA, and it failed dismally. The low quality low poly Steampunk Western(?) assets and overall poor visuals didn't help to appeal to players. Where you fight the Imperium (except the developer calls it the Emperium because they apparently can't spell). So, "Strive" is a dead PvP game. Why did it fail? It's video game autopsy time! Almost every PvP exclusive game on Steam fails. Only a tiny proportion of them "go viral". This game failed for many of the same reasons those others fail. The chief of which is the developer thinking that their game will "go viral" without actually creating any reason for it do so. PvP games face extreme competition, PvP gamers have plenty to choose from and they gravitate to where all the other players are. This game didn't offer anything to peel those PvPers away from the PvP games they're already invested in. It had no upfront cost, but gamers still rejected it. This game lacks any meaningful solo content. The developer tried to use other players as a substitute for real work like level design and story, gambling that just because their game exists, it's going to magically pull the entire player base of Counter-Strike 2 over to this failure instead. They lost that unwise gamble. A game with no players and no solo content is a dead game. Developers need to stop relying on players as a substitute for real content, just because they feel creating genuine narrative, level design and so on is "too hard". It seems this was abandoned by the devs 7 years and 9 months ago. This game will stay incomplete forever. These unfinished, abandoned game attempts just clog the storefront and make it difficult for players to find honest, fully developed games. Even though the game looks pretty bad (and decent visuals are a minimum requirement for any game), we can be fairly sure this is not an asset flip. This is because the game assets look so bad, no self respecting asset creator would publish them. That's a fail. There's also the old adage that those who lack the budget and talent to make their own game assets of any level of quality usually lack the budget and talent to do the rest of the job of game development properly, too. This game is fairly dated at 8 years old... and even back then it looked old and busted compared to contemporary, professionally made 3D games of the same period. It looked bad then, it looks worse now. Next is pricing and what value this has for gamers. There's no initial download price, but the developer was charging $12 USD for this. Talk about delusions of grandeur. Price barriers, especially on low quality products, can be a direct cause of failure. It seems like a nice gesture for the game to have no up-front cost anymore, but it also tells us that the game wasn't good enough to succeed as a paid product. This is also a bit of a slap in the face to anyone who showed enough questionable judgement to pay money for this... nobody got refunded. You can always judge a game by how popular it is with the general public. Steam has over 130 million unique gamers, and over 40 million unique logons every day from dedicated PC gamers. But this only ever had a peak player count of a dozen or so people... that's very poor public reception. Gamers rejected this, most likely due to the reasons I supply in this review. All other issues aside (any of which would disqualify this from being worth your time), this is a game that relies on other players for it to be viable, and because there's not enough players, it's not viable. I can't recommend anyone downloads this, it's basically dead. Finally, I'm here to help save gamers time by filtering out the noise and substandard games. If you don't agree with my assessment of the defects in this game, go ahead and download it... maybe you'll find the same defects to be as unacceptable as I did, maybe not.
