NOW DONT GET ME WRONG... i was hoping this game would be good, but when i heard them talk i KNEW this game used AI... the story is REALLY BAD, like the older games story are a lot more better, they had deep lore and you could have hours of hours reading all about stuff, but in this game?.. no, it feels like a AI made all of the story, all of the people talking are AI, some of the things in game feels like it was made from AI. and dont get me started how long it takes to BREAK THE STONES... just dont get this game at all, it uses AI a lot of the time, and the more i played the more i wanted to leave and never look back. if you want a good stickwar game, play stickwar 2, it was a lot more better then this can be.
I really liked the story and the gameplay. As someone who enjoys the Stick War style, this game really pulled me in. The 3D style gives the game a different feel, and I found the battle system pretty enjoyable. I got used to the controls quickly, and managing the units while being actively involved in the battles was fun. Even in its current state, it gave me a good time, and I think it could be even better in the future if online mode and more content are added. If you enjoy this type of game, I recommend giving it a try.
Man I wish I had better things to say about this game. I adored the original Stick War games so I was really excited to see this but it's....quite rough. Units can't be upgraded as you progress through the campaign. You do have a skill tree, but it has very little in the way of meaningful upgrades and only one or two unit upgrades rather than letting you upgrade all of your units like the legacy games. The game has two difficulties; referred to as Easy and Normal respectively and Normal is awful to play on. Enemies and the statue have insane health pools when on Normal, meaning you're not facing any extra challenge, just spending a significant amount of extra time chipping away at these health pools. You can only control the four hero units, and not any of the other units like giants (which is just disappointing) or miners (which would be helpful to accelerate the early game). Your hero units can not die and instead just respawn after a certain amount of time. Enemy hero units are the same way. The camera is very finicky, making it a bit hard to aim with the archer hero. Despite having a price tag, the game has free to play cash shop features. Currently, those features ARE disabled, but the infrastructure is there for the shop. It's clear they eventually intend to add a shop you will use real money to buy skins that grant player advantages - which is likely why upgrading units isn't in the game. So they can sell you skins that grant you buffs - similar to how they've done in past games. Granted, the past games were free; so it was more understandable. The game uses AI voice acting that is very VERY rough around the edges and is quite grating to listen to. Some cutscenes cannot be skipped - and I'm saying that after very little play time. I can't imagine how jarring it is after playing to the end of the campaign. And finally - it's a very minor nitpick but it really bothers me that the units all have different names. I suppose it HAD to happen due to copyright issues but even having not played the older games in years (probably close to a decade, actually) I can still just feel that the new names aren't right. Probably the game's greatest positive is easily just how beautifully animated it is. Units move and fight in satisfying ways and have some absolutely gorgeous execution animations as well. The art style is also adapted well to three dimensions, something that is not always handled well.
Good game

This was a mistake to buy. its not bad, but its not good. clunky slow boring combat. meaningless upgrades, and you can beat the entire game just spamming the block button for parrys. boring.
