About
Thousands of years ago, humanity built colossal war machines to stop the apocalypse. Now they just use them for dance battles.
Groove your way across a neon city of perpetual night, build an online following, and discover the secrets hidden in an abandoned arcade.
This is a free standalone story set in the world of Steel Century Groove, and can be enjoyed entirely on its own. It features exclusive content not found in the full game: unique levels, new characters, and a fully separate narrative.
Collect and upgrade: Level up your mechs, equip them with mods, and pair them with backup dancers.
Unique gameplay kits: Each mech has their own set of abilities, mechanics, and resources. A simple starter mech builds and spends energy, while later mechs have you maintaining an army of drones or swapping between cards in a mini deck builder.
Flexible rhythm combat: Steel Century Groove: Midnight doesn't demand a specific button press for each note. Instead, pick from your mech's kit of battle abilities.
No playing the metronome: Challenge yourself against interesting melodies, even when playing with your own music. You’ll never just be endlessly tapping out the beat.
No accessories required: Built from the start for gamepad or mouse & keyboard.

its really fun. the battle is interesting in a good way.
I love that you can plug in your own music and the dances that the mechs do are so perfect to me. It is just a really fun and entertaining brain break , and i love seeing what the dances look like synced up to my songs that i uploaded. It always fits so well, and it also lowkey makes me feel like a DJ when I'm playing the game ! I got a tiktok about this game like the other day and had to come check it out, and it definitely DID NOT disappoint !!!<333
The custom song mechanic is genuinely one of my favorite things ever. Tends to be janky w some genres of songs with more 'noise', but fixing it up is pretty easy :) very excited for the full release, 11/10 easily my favorite rhythm game <3
very good came. crashed my whole pc and file explorer. 10/10
Having the right keyboard made this game so satisfying to play
Fun game so far (im 5 minutes in i think) im probably gonna buy the full game later
Playing this brings me joy; its unexpested darkness is quite welcomed, and the character look goofy but the writing is cool. It is fascinating how Steel Century Groove: Midnight manages to pull off that specific atmosphere. The synergy between the music and the gameplay logic creates a very particular kind of immersion that's rare to see. Custom song woks so well. Plays perfectly on Steam Deck.
