About

STARWEAVE is more than a narrative-focused tactics game – it’s a tapestry of intertwined fates, a journey marked by camaraderie, laughter, loss, and defiance against the inescapable. Set against the backdrop of a world held hostage by prophecy, you will navigate the treacherous landscapes of destiny and grapple with the chains that bind you to an oppressive cycle.
Developer Note: This game is a thesis project created by a group of students and freelance collaborators. Starweave should take around 3 hours to complete. Please note that the game will likely not receive any additional updates. All purchases go directly to the developers. For more information on the game's development and release, please refer to our devlogs/Steam updates above.
Features:
✦ Squad-Based, Turn-Based Combat: Engage in tactically demanding encounters where every decision counts, and the balance of power can shift in the blink of an eye.
✦ Refusal Mechanic: Refuse to be bound by destiny. Characters may resist their prescribed roles, altering the course of what they've been told to do. It's up to you to come to grips with your errant actions.
✦ Rich Storytelling: Immerse yourself in a richly woven narrative where bonds are tested, friendships are forged, and every victory is a step towards breaking the cycle.
✦ Character Bonding: Experience heartwarming bonding moments with your teammates. Their lives are intertwined with yours, and their struggles, their laughter, and their sacrifices will resonate with you long after you’ve put the game down.
✦ A Stellar Team: Created by a team of over sixty students and collaborators, and including a phenomenal party comprised of the voice talents of Heather Gonzalez (Monster Hunter Rise, Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment), Anjali Kunapaneni (Monster Hunter Wilds, The Outer Worlds 2), Marissa Lenti (Octopath Traveler 0, Borderlands 3), and Brian Timothy Anderson (Fire Emblem Engage, Infinity Nikki).
In STARWEAVE, every decision, every interaction, every step taken can tip the scale of destiny. With every choice, you will come closer to the truth - the truth of who you are, who you were meant to be, and who you choose to become. Stand strong against the tides of fate and weave your own starry path. Your journey awaits.

Steam might say I played this for 20 minutes but I played for an hour and a half. I loved the art style and loved that each character had different goals they want to achieve, which is reflected on their attack styles. I would have loved and would have even paid more for more lore and a more impactful ending, and each ending for each character. I feel that the endings felt a little lackluster, but it is what you'd expect from a game that only costs $5.
A refreshing, short game that feels slightly rushed but beautiful every step of the way! I think the turn-based combat had a great twinge of personality with having to earn your party members' trust and having them do what they think is best at times. Overall a great game with a beautiful soundtrack, gorgeous art and great voice acting!
Es un juego visualmente muy bonito, la musica tambien es bastante bueno, pero es demasiado rapido, quiza hubiera tenido algunos eventos de interaccion mas, pero dentro de lo que cabe, esta bien. 8/10
a touching experience full of heart!! really cool ideas brought to genre, it's oddly refreshing to have an srpg of bite-sized length. strong writing & voiceover connects you to the characters right away. amazing music/sfx. worth every penny!
Very cool leadership mechanic and a surprisingly impactful story, great job y'all.
Captures something really subtle about a dream's logic- the sweeping world rendered only as a liminal stage. Characters still live in my head rent free.
So far it is a beautiful little game! I love it. I'll get back to finishing it soon, there's just a strange hardware issue I'm having that I am sure is a me problem. You've done great work Studio Starweave. <3
Beautiful art and voice acting. Also it has engaging gameplay that goes against conventions of a strategy game. It confused me at first, but when I learned to adjust to how the game wanted me to listen to the characters, it became an awesome experience. Well worth the time!
this game is gorgeous and brimming with obvious love and soul. in its ~2 hour runtime, i found myself surprised throughout by the way it played with my expectations for its gameplay and story. in terms of the gameplay, i thought it was solid, and the commitment to its use as a storytelling tool above all else was awesome. for example - as a tactical rpg fan i found myself wishing for a more concrete understanding of the battle mechanics, but on the other hand, i think the vagueness of it serves the narrative and contributes to the overall dreamlike quality of it. there are a few mechanical annoyances (locked camera obscures characters/enemies at times, perspective makes it difficult to select certain tiles) but ultimately they are not that difficult to work around. the story, although somewhat minimalist given its brevity, was thought provoking and incisive. i think if you care to chew on it then there is a lot to think about. i don't want to spoil anything so i shan't say any more. lol i was also really impressed by the quality (and presence) of the voice acting, and the art is truly stunning. this is i think obvious to anyone with eyes, which is why i'm tacking it unceremoniously onto the end, but know that i really mean stunning. i have seen some of the awesomest pictures ever playing this game overall i really enjoyed this, it's definitely worth your time and your $5. :) "why do yyou have 58 hours in it" i started it and got distracted. sorry
