About

In Starbound, you create your own story - there’s no wrong way to play! You may choose to save the universe from the forces that destroyed your home, uncovering greater galactic mysteries in the process, or you may wish to forego a heroic journey entirely in favor of colonizing uncharted planets.

Settle down and farm the land, become an intergalactic landlord, hop from planet to planet collecting rare creatures, or delve into dangerous dungeons and lay claim to extraordinary treasures.
Discover ancient temples and modern metropolises, trees with eyes, and mischievous penguins. Make use of hundreds of materials and over two thousand objects to build a sleepy secluded cabin in the woods, a medieval castle, underwater arcade, or even a space station.

Starbound has been built from the ground up to be multiplayer and easily moddable. You have the tools to make the universe your own and modify the game to suit your play style - add new items, races, planet types, dungeons, and quests - the possibilities are limitless.

Add-ons
Each DLC is estimated with the same model as a game, then summed — a modeled figure, not reported DLC sales.
Sums Steam only; Xbox, GOG publish no volume signal, so the true total is higher by an unknown amount.
Updates
Build ids and update times come straight from Steam's PICS — the same source SteamDB reads. Patch history grows as we record new builds.

yeah
Love this game a lot. The story is ass, combat coulda been better, but the overall feel of the game is nice. Beautiful scenery, comfortable game. Nice building, you can get very creative. The modding community has gone wild, and since the game no longer receives updates, you don't have to worry that they will break in the future.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 23 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 14 places towards #1, and the 2,515 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Minecraft but there are too many different crafting stations with too many different sub-menus. The controls are floaty when you want to do something percise and too rigid whenever you want to do something fast. The hotbar just feels kina unwieldy to navigate, The inventory suffers from the same issue as the crafting system, having just way too many sub-categories which make it a nightmare to navigate. All in all...idk, just stick with Minecraft if you want this sorta progression system or play No Mans sky if you want the cool scifi spacetravel experience. Ultimately keep in mind that these are issues I have with the game rather than objective truth, but I can not recomend this game personally.
Really enjoyable, cozy crafting and exploration game. There’s loads to do without it ever feeling too stressful — building bases, gathering resources, exploring different planets, upgrading your gear and just generally getting lost in the world. It has that great ‘I’ll just do one more thing’ feeling and suddenly a couple of hours have disappeared. The pixel art and soundtrack suit the game perfectly, and I especially like how relaxed it can be when you just want to build, explore and progress at your own pace. Definitely worth playing if you enjoy Terraria-style games, crafting, exploration and cozy sandbox games. Highly recommended.
The game is a little rough and empty on its own and has its limitations but the modding community is insane, there are numerous mods that easily triple or quadruple the amount of content in the game and especially with things like Open Starbound, the game is pretty worthwhile, especially if you get it on sale.
Fun, but a bit fetchy at times.
игра как наркотик, люблю и ненавижу одновременно, 100% советую, в общем с пираткой и другим акком уже 1000 часов
