I love it when a game series improves with every new iteration, although, this was the last of the (2) Jedi Knight games. And where the Jedi Outcast playthrough was dropped after 4 hours, Academy found me wanting to play through it again immediately, but it isnt without some serious flaws. There are a couple of segments in the game that i just thought sucked major ass. Like the speeder level, all you do is drive a (very) janky thing until you get to the end, thats it, nothing else and then theres the tomb level, where there are sith enemies scattered throughout, super annoying to fight, at least until you start doing the best move in the game... crouch and hold the attack button, extra effective with double swords, not tested with the staff saber, but i will probably do that on my next playthrough. Just do that and you dont really have to do much else, i love that its there, feels like you can start to breathe again after you find out you can do that. Does it make the game trivial? nope, play on harder difficulty, problem solved. Compared to JO (Jedi Outcast) this game is improved in every way, better combat, better enemy AI, less floaty movement (not entirely gone, but at least its better than JO) and ofc you start with the sword, and the temple levels are massively better than JO. My enjoyment score for this game is 80% It has aged very much like its predecessor, but not as badly. The saber "combat" is just constant wailing and nothing else, i dont think it has ever been done well in any game. Takes about 8 hours to finish.

Star Wars Jedi Knight - Jedi Academy stands out for its fast paced and acrobatic gameplay. The lightsaber combat is difficult to master as the direction and timing of your attacks are determined by your footwork. You are able to aim your strikes with mouse or joystick to direct your lightsaber towards your opponent to condense the time between controller attack input and hitting your opponent. All in all a great game which requires you to technically plan your melee attacks ahead of time and encourages you to outflank other jedi using force jumps, dodges, other acrobatic skills. This game exceeded my expectations and has high replay value.

Classic game from my childhood. Still plays great, overall very fun game from the past.
