Star Tank

(A key was supplied by the developer) First oh all, I now use Linux and this game works well with it! I love the crisp DOS game-like graphics, the sound effects and the music; all very nostalgic. I played this with a controller and it controlled very well with the analog sticks and such, and I'd recommend using one because although the keyboard is supported, the mouse isn't supported. One has to stop via braking and re-adjust the aiming, and requires some practice, but is very rewarding and fun once you get to aiming quickly. Also, the tank can jump, which helps with dodging enemies, bullets, and floor hazards. In my humble opinion, all these game-play mechanics I find actually work quite well. In later stages, different enemy types show up, and also, after a few stages, a boss comes up. So far, as of writing this, I only managed to defeat the first boss; but I am gunna try my best to reach the others, at least the second boss that seems to have a silly name (according to the achievements). A lovely arcade-y game that rewards practice and awareness of both enemies in the air and on the ground. Thumbs up!~ (PS- if you want to change the controls, the Steam overlay has a controller config option on the upper right; from there, it's easy to config what controls you want.)

Games is fun like a mix between gi joe and galaga. The game only pauses when you beat a stage, so you have to play it when you actually have nothing else to do. Gameplay is kinda neat, every enemy has their special atack that will force you priorize specific targets instead of randomly shooting at ♥♥♥♥♥. Game does well in emulating arcades from a forgotten era.

10 asterisks for everything: for retro, for fun, for cheap, for addictive, for its music, for control, for having achievements, well, for all the hours of electronic vice it has given me. It took me about twelve hours to win the game, twelve hours of intense action that has left me exhausted. It is literally fast paced, dizzying. It demands the player the greatest concentration and reflexes. At the height of virtual reality, this retro gem of outdated technology appears. Asteriskel Classification: * * * * * * * * * *

Would be better without the aiming crosshair.

Excellent shmup avec l'esthétique des machines d'arcade du début des années 80. Le meilleur de tous est sa jouabilité : c'est difficile à maîtriser, mais une fois qu'on a appris c'est gratifiant. Le pixelart pourrait être mieux. La musique est bonne et variée. Un jeu très amusant et stimulant. 8/10

Shump muy, muy bueno y original. Una mezcla entre Galaga y juegos como Operation Wolf. Lo mejor del juego es el control que cuesta dominar pero que cuando lo logras es muy, muy gratificante. Requiere de gran habilidad por parte del jugador porque de a poco se va volviendo más difícil. Muchos y variados enemigos. La música también es buena. Los gráficos es el peor punto, pero sin ser malos. Un shump muy recomendado 8.5/10

Old, simple and hard. I just don't know what to say here, I do not do platformers or casual games like these. I am sure if someone liked this genre they would enjoy it but games like these are free on browsers now a days, this one has nothing special in it. I wish I could use my mouse to aim and shoot but this does not have that supported, despite it being 2021. I wish I could give this a neutral review.

Jogo de Shoot em Up muito bom, incrível, Divertido e Difícil; Clone do Incrível "´99 The Last War" jogo do Memorável "Arcade", no Estilo de "Nave/Chuva de Balas"; têm uma jogabilidade boa e com dificuldade linear, apos indo passando os Chefes; mais Naves estranhas e Miseráveis com attacks estranhos só pra te atrapalhar mais e mais, Trilha Sonora muito Boa e Cenários Planetários diversos. Super Recomendo, Parabéns aos Desenvolvedores que fizeram essa Obra de Arte; e nos fizeram relembrar boas lembranças de infância, Boa Sorte e Diversão à Todos.

I like this game a lot. Star Tank has a weird mechanic. Your movement is tied to your shots. I've played it for an hour. Some of the purist developers refuse to incorporate an easy mode for gamers 55 and older. I have issue with that. I get to the second stage and can never get further. This is not 1987, this is 2023, and I'm not a young lad, I'm an older man. Great purchase for a buck. Ice Nosfe is the best offering from this dev, although it's the same story, I get to the second stage, and can't get any further. Controller friendly.

So, this game it has no options at all. Not a good sign. Has bad keyboard controls, though for the controllers it's not too bad. Like old game has no save progress, when you lose you restart from the beginning.
