For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.

I wanted to love this as much as the style deserves, but the gameplay didn't catch me enough. First of it looks great, the tricks animations are amazing and the (sparse) soundtrack is cool. As long as you're on the hoverboard, the game is dynamic and fun, once you're off it platforming is a bit too floaty, combat is a bit too jank and the puzzles are a bit too simplistic. Would still recommend it, simply because riding the hoverboard is that fun.
very chill game to pass the time, jumping around the dunes is very fun and awesome, the story's ending is just plain annoying and boring IMO, wish we could've gotten more

I really, really enjoyed this game. It’s an original blend of platform, exploration, and surf. And yet during my first hour of gameplay, I was a little confused by some of the choices made by the developers, especially the controls. Ultimately, though, the controls aren't bad, they’re just unconventional. Once you master them, the surfing feels incredible. Jumping from dune to dune, propelling yourself over hundreds of meters, flying at dizzying heights, it's simply awesome. The story is quite simple, and it would have benefited from being a little more present. In short, our character receives a message from his girlfriend, who has been missing for years. And so he sets off for a mining planet in the middle of nowhere to find his soulmate. The narrative unfolds through recordings left by the girlfriend, scattered throughout the world. Even though the story is very simple, I liked it and wish to see a sequel. The voice acting of the girlfriend (the only voice of the game) is really very well done. I wouldn't have appreciated this little story without it. The music is also excellent, it's hard rock! The visuals are stunning, the strange landscapes of dunes, rock formations, and mechanical structures serve the gameplay beautifully while also being a feast for the eyes. Almost any location on the map allows for taking magnificent screenshots. The gameplay is split between several activities. Surfing is one of the main elements. The world map is gigantic and several secondary objectives are dedicated to it: races, time trial, hunt. The second activity is exploring mines: these are phases with platform and a bit of puzzle. It is in these mines that six powers will be unlocked, most of which will have different effects depending on whether used on foot or while surfing. But even on the world map, the platforming gameplay is necessary. Verticality is very present; you will find yourself climbing gigantic structures hundreds of meters high to activate machines such as drills or towers. Once activated, these towers allow for a super fun mode of transport: they propel us like a cannonball in the desired direction. There's also a bit of a collectathon with: audio cassettes from the girlfriend, new songs to add to the playlist, and surf skins. They are all marked on the map if you walk in their area, so it's an easy collectathon overall. There are also 4 bosses to face during the adventure. The game isn't without flaws. The stats for your overboard aren't explained very well, and the same goes for the engineering stat. So yes, there is crafting, but without going into details, here again you have to guess a little how it works. Certain abilities or powers allow you to cheat in some puzzles. In terms of difficulty, once you accept that the controls are unconventional, the main part of the game remains quite simple. If you want to finish everything, it's not so easy but it's still achievable. The game prioritizes fun over difficulty, and it succeeds brilliantly. The world of Star Overdrive is massive, yet everything is designed to let you traverse it quickly and easily. Nothing holds the player back, by the end of the adventure, moving at breakneck speeds at incredible heights made it feel like I was playing with cheat codes on. I highly recommend Star Overdrive!
Much like The Legend of Zelda BotW and TotK, this game is immense. Many of the quests seem impossible, especially against the bosses, but with the right combo of acquired skills, plus scads of patience, they are achievable.
😊 Totalmente recomendable!!!!
I bought this for less than 3 USD, and for that price I'd recommend it, it is a weak recommendation though. The open world traversal is fun and original, especially when you upgrade the hoverboard, it's fun to plan paths, adapt to what you find, boost and jump. The music is neat. Art direction is not ugly but a bit bland. Combat is basic. The story is inoffensive and close to non existent, main character doesn't talk and the girl you are trying to rescue; you mostly get to know through tapes, so that won't carry the experience. Still the game feels empty but not cynical, I think the devs cared about it. What MURDERS the fun factor are the puzzles, especially the puzzle dungeons, they have zero personality, feel like a chore, and given the open world nature of the game and poor design; I stumbled upon several I was lacking upgrades to finish, or I came with a solution the game didn't account for and wouldn't acknowledge. So I would have to realize that on my own, throw away all my progress, and hope the next puzzle would be doable with the tools I had (and not too boring/long) If said puzzles click with you I can see how this game could be a pretty great time. I'd recommend sticking to the path the game leads you towards, rather than exploring too much, to avoid the frustration of not being able to finish stuff due to lack of upgrades.
Era pra jogar 30 minutos, acabei jogando 4 horas. Divertido.
An open world game very fun and with great music and vibes. It has a lot of jank but a really good game nonetheless
