Squirrel Legacy is an RPG about a hero's tale, and the rise of squirrels.
[h1]Gameplay[/h1]
This game plays as most [i]generic[/i] RPGMaker games do. You travel-about an overworld and several towns, periodically stopped by random encounters or story-events. Combat is as basic as can be. There isn't much more to it than [i]holding down the "enter" key[/i]. As the game progresses, you will earn more abilities, which will encourage you to switch up your gameplay (a little).
During the campaign, you will have to make some choices that will permanentely affect members of the party, These can be as simple as [i]reading one or more books[/i], or [i]who you sleep with[/i]. At some point I recruited an anthropomorphic squirrel, and he totally [i]violated[/i] the protagonist's mother. Afterwards, she learned a few new "moves".
[h1]Story[/h1]
This story begins with two pink-haired protagonists, a mother and son. He's got a "big day tomorrow". For boys to [i]become men[/i] they must "collect the four elements". He's to leave his home, armed with nothing more than his [i]trusty stick[/i] and the clothes on his back. He travels the land from town-to-town on a quest for "talismans", physical representations of the elements.
He eventually saves a warrior from the dreaded Lich King. She offers the protagonist the final talisman he needs, provided he escorts her to a nearby village. After earning his manhood, it becomes clear that the protagonist must now stop the Lich from destroying humanity. They eventually come across a squirrel. He offers to join the cause provided the protagonist(s) retrieve his lost weapon. With a knight and squirrel by his side, the boy's mother joins the party. This is where the real [i]meat[/i] of the adventure begins.
[h1]Visuals[/h1]
The user interface is a stereotypical, RPGMaker style. It looks and operates the same as most RPGMaker games. The sprites are generic and mostly default RPG-Maker-content. They are generally not very interestingly placed, and much of the world feels. . . empty. I would highly, highly reccomend that you activate "always dash" from the options menu.
As for the lewd content, it is very decently-drawn. Expect to see beastiality and human-on-human action. For those of you curious, the beasts in question are anthropomorphic, sentient squirrels. The meaningful lewd scenes are few and far between, and sometimes reuse previous images. I counted five full art scenes through out my playthrough.
[h1]Verdict[/h1]
This is a deeply-flawed game with a questionable premise, and (very offensive) sexual content. If that sounds like a good time to you, I'd highly recommend this title. I found myself laughing more than once, though the flaws are nothing to scoff at.
Wait for this title to go on sale. When it does, give it try.
