About
Battle with up to 6 players in this local multiplayer party game, sure to bring "edge-of-your-seat" moments to your next game night!
Squarena is a skill-based multiplayer party game with an emphasis on physics combat. The game mechanics support ease of entry with a high skill ceiling. Enjoy a variety of arenas and variations in this 2D physics arena shooter, where your character's health determines its size. The lower your health, the smaller you become which makes it easier to maneuver and avoid bullets, but it also means the recoil from shooting will have a bigger impact on you! Don't forget that you have your teleport and shield abilities to use and try to get the edge in the battle as well!

some rules can be altered via the options menu under RULES
Standard Vs. Mode: Other team's bullets damage you (and make you smaller) until you eventually explode and lose a life. Last person or team standing wins!
Sport Modes: Two arenas - basketball and soccer inspired. Touching the ball with your character or an ability changes it to your color. Score a goal while it's your color, and every other color loses a life!
Hot Potato: The "hot potato"-balls switch between red and green every time they are touched by a player or ability. If your character touches them while red, you take damage.
Zero Gravity: This arena has standard Vs. mode rules, but with a boundless zero gravity playfield. Bullets loop forever until hitting something!
CRUMBLE mode: An arena/mode made in collaboration with BRUTE FORCE (developer of CRUMBLE & Paper Sky). Standard Vs. mode rules but with a toppling playfield. Falling into the fog at the bottom is an instant KO!
Obstacle Course/Race mode (Multiplayer OR Single player): These arenas are a race to the finish in a pure platforming-style mode. Touching red surfaces sends you back to your last checkpoint.
Target Practice (Single player only): Blast as many targets that you can within the time limit. Destroying targets adds to the timer. Improve your aim to challenge your friends!
Square Up! mode (Single player only): A precision physics-platforming mode where you try to make it to the top of the map to banish an ancient relic as quickly as possible. Inspired by "Getting Over it" and "Only Up!".
*5-6 player battles can only use up to 4 xbox gamepads at a time, then use alternate types for the other two players.

Fun little game to kick around with a group of friends. It's not incredibly complex, but the skill cap is still relatively high with shields, teleportation, and aiming. The developed also seems to be responsive given there was a bug reported yesterday and it's already been patched. I don't typically review games, but was pleasantly surprised by this one. Hope others find it as enjoyable as I do!
The game is really fun to play, not only with friends but also alone, it's really difficult at some levels but this is what makes more funny!! I played different modes and all of them were really great, but a honor mention to the basketball and soccer modes that were REALLY cool to play, hahah!! The game is really worth it, and really funnier with friends too!!

This game throws players into intense physics-based combat, controlling colourful square avatars. It's a game where mastery counts, balancing accessibility and depth. Competing with friends to claim the title of top combatant fosters an exhilarating and competitive environment, perfect for lively social gatherings. Fun but challenging with a very enjoyable 8-bit throwback vibe in aesthetic and soundtrack.
Very nice game, you can customizable game rules, unlock skins, cosmetics & other content. Theres low system requirements, <200mb HDD disk space required. I recommend it!
Multiplayer side-view shootemup/deathmatch with twin stick controls, kind of like soldat without all the explicit gore and violence. I was able to play with my 9 year old without any moral qualms, which was nice – the minimalistic visuals completely downplays the fact you are trying to kill each other ;-) Controls are very floaty with lots of momentum – a bit like n++, making it very easy to traverse the multiplayer maps. Bullets bounce allowing trick shots and on the whole it's a blast as a couch multiplayer game. I only have 2 controllers (one xbox 360, one switch pro) and had no problems using them simultaneously. Supposedly you can have up to 6 people playing on one screen but I suspect it would be too frenetic and crowded for much strategy with more than 4 players. With 2 players it is fast but still strategic. I especially like the built-in handicapping where each hit makes you smaller and thus (a bit) harder to hit again. There are also a couple single player maps but they are kind of forgettable, decent for practicing the controls but not that much fun beyond that. This is a game you get to play with your friends ( or enemies ).
I really enjoy this game. Its great fun with friends and the single player is cool too. Makes a great party game too. The game has a high skill ceiling so you can put quite a bit of time getting good and its fun challenging your friends. 5/5 gallons.
This game is fun to play with friends or by yourself. I love how nostalgic it feels while being something totally new and different. It has almost an arcade feel to it that I really enjoy. The multiplayer is fun and will have you feeling like a kid again in the best ways. You’ll want to play this with friends and family but if you’re like me and you enjoy your alone time the single player game modes are challenging and will have you wanting to best your friends scores or even your own.
