Timeless masterpiece, but please for the love of Spode buy it on GOG. (unless you're on a Steam Deck ig)
The game itself is Great but i havent been able to connect to an account for years
Very nostalgic :') Used to play this game a lot in my childhood :3
Probably the most played game of my life from the age of nine up. I have actually played this game more than anything else- and I did not in my childhood have an hours-played counter, but if my Skyrim hours are over 2.5k, and Sims3 is 3.6k I wouldn't be surprised if the true hours-played for Spore is closer to 4-5k. I played this game from the disc before you had to add it to an Origin account, and bought it again on steam as an adult. Spore is amazing. Creature stage captivated me as a kid who ended up studying zoology and evolution in the future, the cumulative evolutionary traits dynamic was so fun. I also loved hunting and eating creatures and always compare other games to this one in terms of hunting satisfaction. I don't think either expansion pack really captured my interest, but I got both when they came out as birthday presents. I did not understand how to get the special items for planet missions, it seemed like the exp scaling was impossible. So Spore is 10000% recommended, Spore Galactic Adventures is not in my opinion. Creepy and Cute parts pack is just body parts, and I never cared about the aesthetics of the creatures I made, so I am not the target audience there. Tribal and Civ stages were to be weathered, I did not enjoy them after the 100th time I had to do the same thing. Creature and Space stage are where it's at. I wish they made more games like this.
After all these years it's still fun to play and definitely deserves a remake, where not much of the content got cut.
