Spooky Starlets: Movie Monsters

Worth it on discount, not full price. Its a mediocre at best game. The only reason I am giving a positive review is because it is better of a concept then most. A very unique idea with good voice acting just not greatly executed with buggy dialogue and is mainly a text based game, the images do not match the story. Getting 100% is an annoyance taking probably 20-40 minutes of cycling for the remaining one to two characters progression you lack. This is due to characters for scenes being ENTIRELY LUCK BASED.

Spooky Starlets: Movie Monsters je zážitek plný rozporů. Je to jako dostat nádherně zabalený dárek, ve kterém je cihla. Na jednu stranu máte skvělý art styl, vtipný scénář a sympatické postavy. Na druhou stranu je tu naprosto prázdná a nudná karetní hra a erotické scény, které jsou tak špatné, až jsou k smíchu. Doporučil bych to? Jen a pouze těm nejoddanějším fanouškům monsterslečen, kteří jsou ochotni přetrpět hodiny nudného klikání, aby se dostali k těm pár skvělým dialogovým scénám. Závěrem to tedy řeknu takhle. Repetitive but simple and fun gameplay loop!!! Tbh, just go for the 24+ production value objective and put in all the available actresses and then spam high-value cards, doing that will finish the game for you very quickly. Honestly, I wanted to play this one ever since that one "match 3" newgrounds teaser so I was happy to finally play the full thing! The animations are cool and the artstyle is cute!! The actresses all got their own personalities, so there is something for here everyone! :3

Seems I usually go against the trend when it comes to reviewing adult games. I stand by my convictions as the only living human being who can say they were once the director of the legendary "Netflix of Porn" two decades ago. I've seen it all, literally. And didn't like most of it. This game falls short in so many aspects that make it easy to condemn. It lacks a "hub", just throws you right into an oversimplified card game. The main gameplay loop offers only a dash of sexy content. And it's a pretty lame game loop, as game design goes. I am however going to give it a thumbs-up because it's one of the only games that does anything right in the adult space. This makes it one of those "Get it on sale" positive reviews, because full price is a little hard to justify. The good: + Unique characters that are actually attractive + No glorification of hurting or degrading women + Tolerable story text + Decent voices + No 3rd party asset shake n' bake The bad? Well, if it's not in the "good" section above, it basically didn't exist. There's almost nothing in the way of customizing, side quests, free play, etc. It just is what it is: a lame card game with half-decent sex rewards. If the bar were set higher for adult games, this would be a thumbs-down. But as it stands, most adult games are both far, far removed from anything "adult" in nature aside from the laws regarding who can play them. This is one of the very few games that feels like I can enjoy it as an adult, even if marginally. To the rest of the folks who give this a thumbs-down while praising the mind-numbing world of repetitively lazy hentai import games: you kids have fun at the kids table.

My main issue is how little your character actually matters in the story. The game even reinforces this by saying the last director got kicked out for getting too involved, so you’re basically stuck as a bystander. You don’t really build anything with the characters, and any intimate moments usually involve someone else. At times it feels like even side characters (like the janitor) have more going on than you. Might work for people who prefer a more hands-off role, but personally I wanted the main character to actually feel like part of the story.

The idea and overall look are good, but the game mechanics and the quality of explicit content are so poor that it's not worth it. A shame because with a little effort could have been way better.

Идея неплоха, но нарисовано, ну, э. Я рисовал лучше. Хотя видно что могли бы вытянуть визуальную часть, но за каким-то хером часть работы будто отдали школьникам, которые такие: "Секс, трахаться. Палка, писька, огуречек, получился спорный фильм". А часть работы делали явно на отебись. Что-то запамятовал я Spooky Starlets: Movie Monsters, если бы раньше посмотрел что это за чудо, возврат бы попросил.
