Spooky Spins Deluxe Steam Edition is a very lazy "slot machine" simulator. It doesn't seem to have MTX in it, so it's not a gambling scam, it's just, well, a lame PC representation of a lame pastime that loses a lot of people a lot of money. That's sure the kind of thing PC gaming really needed. Not. The represented game is a somewhat newfangled "slot" game where the matching tiles can be on a number of different lines... well if you've been to a casino you'll know. It's fairly faithful in that regard, but the quality of implementation here is low. From a technical perspective, the game doesn't meet basic minimum requirements that most PC gamers expect as standard. While there are options to change the resolution for the game, all this does is scale up the simplistic low quality art assets used to make the game, which makes little or no difference to the graphics quality. Without any other substantial graphics tweaks, it's not possible for gamers to improve the mediocre 2D visuals. Problematically, the user interface for this game is just a 2D text heavy panel with a few static images... it might as well be a browser game. And we all know, Steam isn't here to compete with Chrome and Firefox. If the game can be done in a web browser, it's just not rich or compelling enough to appeal to serious gamers. While there are options to change the resolution for the game, all this does is scale up the simplistic low quality art assets used to make the game, which makes little or no difference to the graphics quality. Without any other substantial graphics tweaks, it's not possible for gamers to improve the mediocre 2D visuals. These technical defects push this game below acceptable standards for any modern PC game. The poor quality of this game is reflected in the general public reception. At the time of this review, SteamDB shows the game only ever reached a peak player count of only 2 players. That's right, only 2. This is a pitiful enough number, and now, the only player activity occurs once or twice a month, presumably someone loading it up to see what it is then quickly uninstalling it. Considering there's over 120 million gamers on Steam, the overwhelming lack of interest in the game is remarkable, but also to be expected. This complete and utter rejection of the game from gamers should be a keen information point for anyone considering buying shovelware like this. Gamers just didn't take this seriously, and for good reason. Spooky Spins Deluxe Steam Edition has an overly optimistic price of around $4 USD, it's not worth it given the defects and shortcomings with the product, especially considering the sheer number of completely free, much higher quality games on Steam.
I'm not sure why people are so hard on this game. I enjoy it. It is what it is, a slot machine set up for amusement only. The only issue I had was trying to "quit" the game without ending the task. Had to look up the help function and find out how to quit. lol
Dull and boring. A prime example of why you shouldn't play slots in real life. 40 lines and yet most of the time I won nothing. You have unlimited cash, took me 5 minutes to spend 10k. No history of how much you got credited for or won. Only way to get out of the game is ATL+F4. Good thing I only paid 30 cents for it from another website Otherwise I'd be asking for a refund. Time to uninstall and toss it into my junk games folder.
